So I'm really, really back to martial arts, in a no-compromise, give-it-all way. Which is great ... can't believe I've been doing just tidbits for the last year. But then, the last yar has been particularly tough, having to adjust to so many things.
But only now that I've been back in the intensive training for two months or so do I realize how much I've missed it, and I am not talking just about the endorphine flow ... My body is no longer unduly protesting, and the kicks are (almost) at the speed I am used to.
I've met a wonderful Chinese professor who gave a lecture on Chinese signs in our project last week and was so excited when he learned I was doing taiji that he's sending me things from China ... including a wonderful Chen Taiji video that I'll share, but it's in my computer at work ATM. So, for now, the little-known and even less taught form I'm proud to know (or have known), the Xin Jia:
