So I've realized that my true calling in life isn't just edumacating the masses...its also being a wonderful clerk for our class meetings.
I know that most people probably don't encounter this at other schools, but at Jeff State its a strange thing to bring one's computer to class in the name of typing up the notes. See, my handwriting is pretty awful, so I go back and type up my notes to save myself the bother of mis-interpreting my own notes. Add that to the fact that both my English and History class are pretty lecture-notes heavy classes and you see where I run into the issue there.
So yes. This mean that I am much sought after in the name of getting an accurate recollection of what went on in the class. On the one hand I feel pretty pleased that my own skills are being noticed, and yeah, its really no sweat for my to sit down and do it. After all, now that I have my laptop, note taking is really easy...
But I have these moments where I feel like I'm a secretary taking down the minutes in a classroom. Perhaps that's something else I should into if I ever don't make it teaching.
Just a thought.
