Absolutely agree on Mac loving it! YES!! The more I think about it, the better it sounds. They could get into serious trouble together.
And yes, it's obvious; it made me chortle gleefully. Given that it's Sunday morning here and I still need coffee, gleeful chortles are a Fine Thing.
A thought on the timeline -- have you been reading "Reverb"? I have Mac returning to Phoenix after a few years' hiatus, and continuing to work there until just a couple of years ago. Age and health slow him down a bit, but not too much. Feel free to borrow the notion . . . *g*
Even if it was just gen and a bit flirtatous, Mac/Vala really is an awesome pairing. And I'm liking the SG1 crossover thing more and more each time I think about it!
Hee! Good to hear!
The timeline issue was more about whether Pete would still be there, but I figured even if he'd retired, he'd never completely retire, he'd still be involved somehow. Or Mac would visit him wherever he'd retired and keep him updated. :) Plus, I don't know how the series ends yet. Lol. I haven't read "Reverb" yet, but I will. :)
I was vaguely aware of the glaucoma. I need to get more DVD's! I think they've all been released on Region 2 now so I'm aiming to have them all by the end of the year, finances permitting.
The same person?? How would that even work? Yes, total fail! I think I read one once where Jack "knew" RDA and invited him round for Sam to meet as a birthday present, since she'd always had a crush on him and MacGyver was her favourite show. *mind boggles* What???
I think avoiding the Mac/Jack thing entirely would be the best way to go, which means a season 9/10 setting would actually be better. Jack's pretty much out of the picture as far as SG1 goes. Plus, keeping him out of the way would avoid the pesky issue of their voices getting confused in my head, which they are apt to do if I don't just focus on one or t'other.
Pepper's Mac/Sam stuff is amazing! I actually re-read them all yesterday! :D I'm in a Mac mood lately, it seems. *g*
ETA: PLUS Go'uld clones running around on Earth? Of course Mac's involved in that! :D
I also adored the Cam/Vala one . . . oh, life is grand.
And I included Mac/Vala in my beyond otp prompts . . . I think she'd probably eat him alive, but there's nothing wrong with that. *weg*

Can I just ask...is it obvious who the target is? The guy he's chasing?
