Rescue What's Left Of Me
Chapter Twelve: One Secret At The Time
Summary: Michael is still trying to cause trouble for Justin by telling lies to Ben. Justin and Brian have a talk that clears up a few things. J.C. goes to visit his dad at the mental institution.
Emmett smiled as he let his body fall back on Brian's bed. "I wish Slater would take me in a romantic getaway," the man said. He sat up and threw the shirt he had gotten from the closet at Brian.
"Stop that," Brian said pulling the black sleeves shirt away from his head. "It's not a romantic getaway. We are going away for only a week and we're taking Bella with us."
"I could stay with her," Emmett offered.
"I don't think that's going to happen," Brian told him. "Justin was adamant about taking her with us."
Emmett stood up and shrugged. "Well, it's going to be the three of you all alone in the woods. She has to sleep at one point or another. I think it's really sweet of him to do that."
Brian smiled and nodded. "Yeah, we really need to go away for a while and clear our heads."
Emmett arched a brow as he walked closer to the brunet. He gave him a little smile. "I'm sorry about Michael."
The brunet sighed and shrugged. "He's just being an ass. I just…"
"What honey?" Emmett asked.
"I just wish he could see that Justin is good for me," Brian told him. "Why can't they get along?"
"You know why," Emmett pointed out. "He's totally in love with you."
"Oh stop it," Brian said pulling two more shirts from the closet. "I really don't want to think about that."
"I know," Emmett told him.
Brian frowned as he put his clothes on his carry on. "I just…he always was there for me, you know. I always thought he was going to be my best friend. But now…I don't know him. He keeps making stuff up about Justin and I'm so tired of it. And then Justin has a temper and I know that one of these days he's going to grab Michael by the neck and choke him to death."
Emmett laughed but stopped when Brian narrowed his eyes at him. "I thought you were joking. Justin…would never do that."
"I hope not," Brian said and went to sit on the bed letting out a sigh.
The other man went and sat next to the brunet. "It will be okay, Brian. Michael will get over it and you guys will patch things up."
The brunet nodded slowly. "Yeah, I hope so."
Emmett smiled widely. "You know, you're not as bad as I once thought."
"Gee, thanks," Brian told him standing up and moving to the drawer.
"Oh come on," Emmett protested as he followed the brunet. "You were trying to be a bad boy if I remember correctly. Now you're a family man."
The brunet smiled at that. "I like it."
"Sure you do, honey," Emmett told him. "Oh," he said as he reached inside the drawer that was already open and grabbed a box of condoms. "Can't forget these."
"Em," Brian yelled. "Stop it," he said and laughed.
Brian was almost done putting his things away when Justin came into the bedroom with Bella. "Hey Em," he said as he smiled at the man. He walked over to his husband and kissed him before he put his daughter in Brian's arms.
"Hey," Brian said kissing his little girl on the forehead. "Did you have fun with daddy?"
Bella gurgled and then gripped Brian's shirt. She buried her head in Brian's chest before she pulled back and smiled widely at her father.
"Oh, she's so beautiful," Emmett said. "Let me hold her."
"It's time for her to eat," Justin said.
"Can I?" Emmett asked.
Brian smiled and nodded. "You know where everything is."
Emmett nodded and went out of the bedroom and towards the kitchen.
"How are you?" Justin asked.
"Where were you?" Brian asked him.
"I told you I was taking her for a ride," Justin said.
"Where?" Brian asked.
Justin looked around the room and then back at Brian. "I'll tell you later."
"Why not now?" Brian asked.
"Are you almost done with this?" Justin asked.
"Yeah," Brian told him. "Do you want me to pack your things?"
"If you want to," Justin told him and moved closer. "Mmm, you smell really good."
Brian shook his head. "I know you're trying to evade the question by saying nice things to me."
"No," Justin said smiling. "I told you that later I would tell you."
The brunet sighed and let it go for the time being. "Hey, Emmett offered to take Bella for the week and…"
"Nah," Justin quickly said. "She's coming with us. It's a family vacation."
Brian smiled a bit. "Okay."
"Don't worry," Justin said as he started pushing Brian back until the brunet hit the wall. "I'll have time to play with you too, kid."
"Oh shut up," the taller man said but he was smiling from ear to ear.
Justin kissed Brian's neck and then rested his hands on the man's hips. "Mmm, I would do you right now if Emmett wasn't here."
"I would be feeding Bella," Brian pointed out. "I don't see how that would happen."
Justin chuckled and kissed the brunet. He moaned as he felt Brian's tongue slipping between his lips. The older man moved his hand to grab Brian's cock and smiled when he felt the man's member hardening in his hand.
"Justin," Brian said after he pulled back. "Stop that."
Justin smirked and moved away.
Brian took a deep breath and willed his erection to go away. "I have to go check on Bella."
"You do that," Justin said and swatted the brunet on the ass. "I'll pack my stuff."
"Oh, I could do it," Brian said. "It will only take me a second."
"That's okay," Justin assured him. "I got it."
Brian nodded and left the room but then half way through the hall he turned back. When he came back to the room Justin was sitting on the bed. The brunet smiled and went over to him. He pushed Justin back and got on top of him. He kissed him hard and rubbed against the older man before he moved away.
"You're a bad kid," Justin said out of breath when Brian smiled at him while he stood in front of him.
"Don't worry," Brian said. "I'll let you spank me when we're both alone."
"That's the spirit, kid," Justin said and watched him go.
When Brian finally made it to the kitchen Emmett was almost done giving Bella her bottle.
"She was really hungry," Emmett said.
"She always is," Brian pointed out.
Emmett nodded at that.
"Hey," Brian said. "I'm going to leave you the key of the house. Just so you can come and put the mail inside and just make sure that everything is okay," the brunet told him.
"Are you sure?" Emmett asked.
"I don't have anyone else to give it to," Brian pointed out as he moved to the fridge. "I'm cooking something. You staying?"
"Sure," Emmett said as he looked at Brian for a few minutes. He was kind of happy that the brunet trusted him with such a big responsibility but he was a bit sad about what Brian had said. He knew that if Michael wasn't being such an ass the brunet would be leaving the key to his house to him, but that wasn't happening. He shook his head slightly and went back to staring at Bella. He smiled at her and she smiled back. He thought to himself that he would be the best friend he could to the brunet.

Michael almost jumped out of the car when Ben parked in front of Brian's house.
"Michael," Ben said and turned off the engine before he got out. "You got to relax."
"I'm just worried," Michael told him as he walked to the door. He knocked and waited for about five seconds before he knocked again.
"Give someone time to come to the door," Ben told him.
Michael sighed. "I've been trying to call him and I came here yesterday and the day before that and no one was here," Michael said. "I'm scared that something happened to him."
Ben sighed as he stood in front of the door of Brian and Justin's house. "There isn't much we can do, Michael. We can't go in there without a warrant."
Michael crossed his arms. "What if he's in there dead?"
Ben frowned as he moved to the side so he could look through the window but the blinds were blocking his view. "I'm sure he's okay. Maybe they went out."
"I have tried to call Brian for the past two days," Michael told him. "And I can't get him."
"Have you asked your friends if they have seen him?" Ben asked.
The dark haired man shook his head.
"Maybe we should do that before we jump to any conclusions," Ben recommended. "Come on, let's go."
Michael didn't want to leave in case Brian came to the house but he didn't have an option. "Okay, fine."
They drove to Emmett's new apartment after Ben asked Michael who could know anything about either Brian or Justin. When they got there Michael got out of the car and told Ben to give him a few seconds. The dark haired man entered the building and took the elevator to the third floor. Once there he walked to Emmett's apartment and knocked on the door. He waited a few seconds and knocked again before Slater opened the door.
"What do you want?" Slater asked arching a brow.
Michael narrowed his eyes at the man. "I want to speak with Emmett."
"He's not here," Slater told him and was about to close the door when Michael stopped him.
"Where is he at?" Michael asked. "Is he working?"
Slater smirked. "Why do you want to know?"
"It's none of your fucking business," Michael hissed at the man.
The blond haired man laughed in Michael's face. "You know where my boyfriend is?"
"Where?" the shorter man asked impatiently.
"It's none of your fucking business," Slater replied with a grin before he closed the door and locked it.
Michael banged at the door with frustration. He grunted and left.
"What did he say?" Ben asked when Michael was back inside the car.
"He wasn't there," Michael said and rubbed his face with his hands.
"I'm sure Brian's okay, Michael," Ben told him as he rubbed the man's left shoulder. "How about if we go to the diner to have something to eat before we continue to try and find Brian. He'll probably be home by the time we finish eating and we can go see him then."
Michael pouted and didn't say anything.
Ben sighed and started the car. He drove to the diner hoping that Michael would get in a better mood. When they got to the diner they sat down in a booth and ordered something. Michael barely ate. He could only complain on how Justin must have done something to the brunet.
"I'm sure he's okay," Ben said hoping that he was right.
Michael jumped from the booth as soon as he saw Melanie and Ted coming into the diner. He ran over to them and almost crashed into them. Ben stood up and followed his boyfriend.
"Guys," Michael said. "Thank god you're here," he said to them.
"What's wrong?" Melanie asked.
"We got a problem," Michael said.
"Take it easy," Ben told him not wanting to alarm anyone.
"A problem?" Melanie asked worried. "What's wrong?"
"Oh my god," Ted said crossing his arms. "What is it?"
"It's Brian," Michael said quickly.
"What's the problem with Brian?" Ted asked frowning.
"He has disappeared," he told them.
"Michael, relax. We don't know that for sure," Ben told them.
"I don't understand," Melanie said. "Justin called you to tell you that Brian was gone? Why didn't he call us?"
"No," Michael hissed. "That idiot probably did something to Brian."
Ted rolled his eyes. He looked at Melanie with a look that said 'can you believe him'. "He's not disappeared. They took a mini vacation. Jesus, Michael," Ted said shaking his head.
"No way," Michael protested. "Brian would have told me."
"Well," Melanie said as she looked at Ted and then back at Michael. "He told us that he was going with Justin away for a while."
"And I'm sure they are perfectly fine," Ted told him.
"If not they would have call us to tell us if anything was wrong," Melanie said.
"That's not possible," Michael said again. "He would have told me."
"I'm sure it slipped his mind," Ted said as he padded Michael on the shoulder. "They will be back soon."
Melanie gave him a little smile before she moved away with Ted.
"You see," Ben said. "Everything is okay."
Michael was furious. He couldn't believe that Brian had left and hadn't told him anything. "I just hope he's okay," he said as he looked at Ben.
"I'm sure he is," Ben said as he caressed Michael's face.
"Um, I think we should go," Michael said. "I'm not feeling too good."
Ben nodded and went back to their booth to put some money down. When he looked up from the table and towards Melanie and Ted they were giving him a strange look. Ben frowned when they quickly looked away. Ben sighed and left the diner. Michael was outside waiting for him. All the way to Michael's apartment the man wouldn't shut up about Brian being in danger. He kept saying that Justin probably had threatened the brunet if he talked to him.
Ben hoped that it wasn't as bad as Michael was putting it. He knew that people around him were hiding something about Brian and Justin and he didn't know what. He had to find out what was going on so he could help Michael.

J.C. knocked on the door and waited for someone to open up. He smiled brightly at Emmett.
"Hi," Emmett said smiling at him. "Come on in."
J.C. did and walked to the living room behind Emmett.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Emmett asked him.
"Sure," J.C. answered. "A beer will be fine," he told the man as he sat on the sofa and looked to where Slater was. "Hey man."
Slater moved away from the window and looked at his friend. He looked to where Emmett was in the kitchen cooking. "Let's take a ride."
J.C. shrugged and stood up.
"Em," Slater shouted. "We'll be right back."
Emmett came out of the kitchen and looked at both men before nodding. "Sure," he said.
The two men left the apartment and took the stairs down.
"What's going on?" J.C. asked once they were in Slater's car.
Slater only shook his head. So the rest of the way J.C. kept quiet. He kept thinking that something bad was going to happen. So he kept alert for anything. Then Slater drove into an empty parking space and got out. J.C. followed the man.
"Come on," J.C. told him. "What the fuck is going on?"
Slater stopped walking and turned to face J.C. "I've been following you."
J.C. frowned. "What?"
"I've seen you going after Tony," Slate said.
"Is not what you think," J.C. told him. "He…Justin told me to."
"For how long?" Slater asked.
"About five months and then some," J.C. told him. "He is after Justin."
"Why?" Slater asked. "Why didn't he tell me?"
"I don't know," J.C. said knowing fully well that it was because Justin only trusted him and no one else. "I guess he wanted to keep it quiet. How did you find out?"
"Tony told me that he felt like someone was following him," Slater said. "I thought that maybe we had a tail on us."
J.C. sighed and rubbed his temples.
"What does Tony want?" Slater asked.
"I'm thinking that maybe he's planning something stupid," J.C. said shrugging not sure what Tony's take was. "Maybe he's planning to take over or take something before disappearing. Maybe someone put him up to it."
Slater licked his lips. "I can check with a few people that I know if he's been turned into a little rodent," the man said.
J.C. thought about it and nodded slowly. "Sure," he said. "It has to be something."
Slater nodded. "Good, let's go back before Em has a heart attack."
J.C. laughed at that. "Okay."
The older man walked ahead to his car and J.C. followed him. This time Slater put the radio on as he smoke. J.C. thought that there was more that Slater wasn't telling him. He knew that something had to be done and soon. He needed to talk to his brother before it was too late and everything crumbled down.

"This is really nice," Brian said to Justin as they sat at the dock with their feet inside the water.
Justin looked at him and nodded.
Brian looked down at his daughter. "She's sleeping," he whispered.
Justin smiled as he looked at his daughter. "She's so beautiful."
Brian nodded and caressed the girl's head. "I was thinking."
"What was that?" Justin asked.
"That we could do this once in a while," Brian told him. "It could be like a family tradition."
Justin licked his lips and stared at his reflection in the water. He knew that soon enough their lives were going to be changing. He closed his eyes and sighed.
"What is it?" Brian asked.
The shorter man looked at Brian and smiled. "I have to talk to you."
"What's wrong?" Brian asked him.
Justin didn't know what to tell the brunet. "Well, my job is kind of forcing me to move."
The brunet bit his lower lip. "What are you saying?"
"That pretty soon we'll have to move and I'm scared that…you won't want to come with me," Justin told him.
Brian looked down at the water. "Well," he said and took a deep breath. "If we have to," he said and looked at his husband. "Then we have to. We're a family and I want to be wherever you are, Justin."
The brown haired man arched a brow and smiled. He thought that for now that would have to do. Later on he would have to explain to the brunet that if they did move away they could never come back. He wondered if Brian would change his mind then.
"Is that what was bothering you?" Brian asked smiling.
Justin smiled a bit at his husband. There were other things that were bothering him but he didn't even know how to begin to explain them to the brunet. He stood up and offered his hand to the taller man. "Come on; let's go check on the food."
Brian smiled and nodded. The two of them went back to the cabin hand in hand. The brunet busied himself putting Bella in her crib while Justin checked the food. When Brian came back Justin had lit a few candles. He smiled at the shorter man and helped set the table.
"This looks really nice," Brian said.
"Good," Justin told him. "Let's eat."
The brunet nodded and enjoyed the roasted chicken with the Alfredo pasta on the side. The brown haired man even had a bottle of wine waiting for them.
"You really went all out," Brian told him. "Is today a special day?"
"As a matter of fact it is," Justin told him.
"Oh really," Brian said and tried to think what it was. He knew it was not their anniversary yet. He tried to think of what could it possibly be but nothing came to mind.
"I met the love of my life a day like today," Justin told him.
Brian stared at Justin and then smiled widely. "Oh my god. You actually remember something like that?"
"Of course," Justin told him. "I have a really good memory."
Brian laughed and then drank some of his red wine. "Mmm, I remember how hot you looked riding that motorcycle."
"I know," Justin said.
"Shut up," Brian told him and laughed again. "In the morning after you dropped me off…I still wished I was in your bed."
Justin didn't know that little fact but he was very happy that Brian was sharing it with him. The shorter man sighed and laughed.
"What?" Brian asked. "I know, it's corny."
"No," Justin said and stood up as he grabbed his plate and then Brian's. "I just…I was going to turn back and somehow convince you to give me your number but when I looked back there was a guy with you."
Brian frowned and then shook his head. "It must have been Michael."
"Oh well," Justin said and he walked back to the brunet. He lifted Brian's chin and kissed him. "Here we are."
"I'm happy that I'm with you, Justin," Brian told him as he stood up.
Justin grabbed the bottle of wine and pulled the brunet to the living room. The brown haired man had started a fire.
"This is really nice," Brian told him.
"Brian," Justin said. "I'm sorry about everything that's been going on lately. I know I lied to you and I'm sorry."
Brian looked down and sighed. "It's okay. I myself felt like strangling Michael."
"I'm not going to tell you not to see him anymore," Justin said. "Because that's childish, but I want you to know that whatever he does or say is not going to keep me away from you. I don't know what he's been trying to do. Maybe he just wants to piss me off so much that I beat the shit out of him so you will leave me."
"I don't want that," Brian said. "I want to be with you. And now I know not to trust what he says, that you really love me."
Justin smirked and shook his head. "Let me guess, I am only using you and I don't care about you."
"I know you love me," Brian said. "J.C. is just a friend of yours and nothing more."
"Wait," Justin said frowning. He stood up from the floor took a few steps and turned to look at the brunet. "You think that I had something going on with J.C.?" Justin asked and then started laughing. "That's priceless. Why would you believe something like that?"
"You're so close to him," Brian said looking away.
"Fuck that!" Justin hissed suddenly as his laughter died. His face turned into a grimace and he knew that Michael had to be behind it. "What has he been telling you?"
"That you and him kissed and were hugging," Brian said and looked away.
Justin sighed and shook his head. He walked over to the brunet and straddled him. "Hey kid," Justin whispered.
Brian lifted his head and looked at his husband with teary eyes. "What?"
"J.C. is my brother," Justin whispered to him.
"What?" Brian asked shocked out his mind. "What are you saying?"
"He's Bella's uncle," the brown haired man told him. "My family…our family."
"Oh Jesus," Brian said as he pushed the older man away. "I'm such an idiot."
"Hey kid," Justin said as Brian stood up. He did the same and stopped Brian from running away. "You're not an idiot."
"I thought…"
"Shhh," Justin said and caressed Brian's face. He shook his head. "It's not your fault. It's mine for not telling you sooner."
"Why didn't you?" Brian asked.
Justin licked his lips and shrugged. "Maybe I didn't want anyone to know."
The brunet sighed. "You got so many secrets, Justin. Are you lying about anything else?"
"By omission maybe," Justin told him.
Brian licked his lips. "I can't…"
"Hey," Justin said and pulled the brunet closer. "One day I might tell you all of them. Just know that whatever it is, it has nothing to do with the way I feel for you. I love you to death. You and Bella are my life and I would do anything for you guys."
"You don't trust me," Brian pointed out.
"Is not about that," Justin told him as he caressed the brunet's face.
"Then what is it?" Brian asked.
"Is about survival," Justin said.
Brian frowned not sure what Justin was talking about. Then it kind of hit him. "None of the guys that you work with know that he is your brother," the brunet said. "That means he's bound to find out if they wanted to harm you or something."
"Or something," Justin said. "I'm sorry, Brian."
The brunet held on to his husband. "Make love to me," he whispered.
"Whatever you want kid," Justin said as he pulled Brian's head closer so he could kiss him.
They started taking their clothes off slowly and got on the floor. Brian was on top of Justin kissing him and rubbing against his husband. Then Justin turned them around so he could be on top. He smiled at Brian and then lowered his head to be able to plant kisses all over the brunet.
"Oh Justin," Brian moaned as he held on to his husband strands of hair.
Justin nibbled at Brian's hips a bit before he started sucking the brunet. Brian arched his hips and gave into the sensations. He opened his eyes after a while when his man pulled away. Brian watched with lusty eyes as Justin produced a few condoms and a bottle of lube. Brian could only grin at the man.
"You look so hot, kid," Justin told him as he put some lube on his fingers. "You want me to fuck you, kid?"
The brunet nodded and his mouth opened as Justin pushed a finger inside of him. He closed his eyes and enjoyed his husband's ministrations. "Justin," he gasped when the shorter man pushed another finger and started playing with his sac.
"Oh kid," the older man whispered more to himself than anyone else. He pulled his fingers away and reached for a condom. He put it on and put some more lube on himself. He licked his lips and got in between Brian's legs.
"Do you want me to turn around?" Brian asked him.
Justin shook his head. "I want to look at you, kid."
Brian smiled with those words. He moaned and his body arched up as Justin started to push inside of him.
"Oh god," Brian moaned with pleasure.
Justin closed his eyes and waited a few seconds before he pushed inside the brunet once again. He caressed Brian's face and kissed him before he started moving slowly. He wanted Brian to enjoy every bit of their love making. It felt like they hadn't been together in ages and he needed to savior the moment.
"I love you, kid," Justin said.
"I love you too, Justin," Brian told him as he held on to Justin's arms. At that moment he knew it in his heart that Justin wasn't lying to him. He knew that his husband really loved him and no one else. He knew that once they were back he had to keep that in mind; that it didn't matter what happened, Justin was his.

J.C. made sure that no one had followed him. When he was sure he walked to the back of the building and used the back door. The door was always locked except when he was coming to visit. He took the stairs up to the fifth floor making sure that he turned his face at every angle where he knew there was a camera. When he got to the right floor he pulled his cap down even more and walked slowly. He timed it so that none of the cameras would record him.
When he got to his father's room he knocked on the door and waited a few second before it opened from the inside. He stepped in and took his shades and his cap off. He smiled at his dad widely. "Hello, old man," he said looking towards Charlie.
Charlie arched a brow and shook his head.
"Sit down," Craig said. "Let's talk."
J.C. did and then waited to see what his father was going to say.
"Your brother hasn't been around for quite a while," Craig told him.
"I know," J.C. said. "He's been busy and when he's not he can't come here because he's being followed."
Craig frowned as he stood up from his chair. "That's why he has a cover story," the man said. The story went that Justin's father was in a mental facility and enough reason for the blond to drop by from time to time without anyone suspecting a thing.
J.C. looked around the room and saw files everywhere the eye could meet. He shook his head thinking that he never wanted to be part of a stake out. They looked like they sucked. He knew that his father and his agents spent most of the time in that room. He looked back at his father and sighed. "I know that. But somehow Jake found out that Justin was undercover and then Tony is following him. He told me he doesn't want anyone getting too close so he keeps away."
"We're closing in," Craig said. "We just need to get a bit more to get Alfred Vitto."
"I know," J.C. said. "But there is too much going on around. I think Justin should disappear for good."
Craig shook his head. "Your bother has worked too hard for this. You think he wants out?"
"He has a family now, dad," J.C. told him.
"Sir," Craig told him strictly.
J.C. rolled his eyes. "I think it would be prudent if you took Agent Taylor out, sir."
"No," Craig said yet again.
"I can stay," J.C. said. "They would never think…"
"He can get places that you can't," Craig pointed out. "They trust him. That's why he's higher in command than you are. It would take too long for you to get where he's at now."
J.C. sighed and knew that his father wasn't budging. "Tony is following him."
"We know," Charles said. "He's harmless."
"Yeah, let's hope so," J.C. said narrowing his eyes at the other agent. He stood up and walked towards the exit.
"Tell your brother to report to me as soon as he can," Craig said as he sat down.
"You mean agent Taylor, sir," J.C. said as he looked back with a raised brow before he put his glasses on as well as his cap. Then he left. If anything happened to his brother he was never going to forgive his father for it.
