Skillz - The Vidders Have Them
Today, I got schooled (people still use that phrase, right?). I've known about fanvids for while now, but today I learned that they're more than just putting clips to music to champion your favorite pairing. They're all about putting together clips and bits of dialogue just the right way to form an actual story, and it doesn't even have to be canon! (OMG!) =D Yeah, I feel a bit dumb, but whatever. Now I know. ^__^ I am now utterly in awe of vidders, considering I don't have the skillz. And in favor of spending too many hours of YouTube this evening watching various fanvids, I feel it is my fannish duty to share some of the highlights...
First is "10 Reason to Ship Dean/Castiel" by angeleyes503. Self explanatory, really, but if anyone else asks why Dean/Cas, they should be pointed here immediately. Completely adorable.
Second is "Dean & Castiel: My Immortal" by thewinchestergospel. Dean is suffering having to live without Castiel, and Sam has to do something to get the angel back. Amazing editing on this one.
Third and last is "Sam/Dean | Take It All Away" by Keepmeclose84. Dean is struggling to go on with his memories of hell, so Sam performs a spell to take them away. However, the spells goes wrong and takes away all of Dean's memories. Can he get them back, and if he does will the brothers' new relationship survive? This one makes great use of dialogue and cuts to tell the story.
Also, BTW, I highly recommend any vid by Keepmeclose84. I've watched several of her Supernatural and J2 works, and all of them are amazing. <3
P.S. No matter how much longer it takes so load, watching in high def is always worth it. *nods*
