Summary: Alone... together.
Notes: This is part of a set of ficlets exploring the AU described in the episode "E2". Jonathan and Malcolm have an established relationship. At the time of these events, Enterprise has been in the past timeline for approximately six years. This is from Jonathan's point of view.

“Coming, Malcolm?”
“Right behind you, Jon… just adjusting the pack. Perhaps we should have brought the shuttlecraft closer… at least to deliver a cache of supplies.”
“No one knows this place but us. I’d like to keep it that way.”
There aren’t many secluded places on a starship. When the shuttles land on this quiet shoreleave planet, everyone seeks out their favorite escapes - alone, as couples, as families. We chose a remote cottage with a view… meadows, mountains, stars… Malcolm.
“For a few days… I don’t have to be the captain. Just your lover.”
“You’ll always be that, love… anywhere.”
