Yes, there's a longer update coming... but not until next week.
The top story here is a reminder that in a couple of weeks I'll be going to Philadelphia, to pick up a quilting rack from
fabricdragon and
whouseknecht (as noted
here) ... *BEFORE* I go to Pittsburgh for the St. Julian event, so that I can deliver said quilting rack to
fiannaharpar. The current plan is to pick up the quilting rack on Thursday the 15th, and visit with family on Friday the 16th before heading out to Pittsburgh after lunch.
Speaking of which, I may be looking for crash space for that weekend.
Happy belated birthday to
gormofberra and
cyaneyed!
It looks like last night's threatened winter weather completely bypassed the Dulles Airport area. EDIT as of 16:30 Fri: Not entirely, just mostly, and late. Well, I suppose melting sleet is better than freezing rain.
As is my occasional wont, I committed Orange Retail Therapy the other day. I now have a regular sized mug that is orange inside and out, and a LARGE mug that is white on the inside and orange on the outside. This makes me happy. I am also considering getting one of each for
cadhla for when she comes to Conterpoint. (They're neither expensive nor elaborate, but they *are* orange. EDIT 04Feb07: said orange gifts have been acquired.)
The other night I made some herb tea in the Large Orange Mug. Celestial Seasonings, on one of its packages, notes very clearly that its (in)famous "Sleepytime" blend is "Naturally Caffeine Free." I should *hope* so, with a name like that!
Doing our 2006 taxes is going to royally suck. More schedules and forms than *ever* this year. Plus, in order to do them properly I'm going to have to dig up my tax returns from 2000 and/or 2001. And I'm still going to end up subtracting our income from our income three separate times on Schedule D, I'm sure of it.
In SCA news, our seneschal missed the Barony Meeting last night because his wife was in the hospital. Having a baby. At least one month early. I've seen pictures and both mother and child appear to be doing okay. Welcome to the world, Alyce Elizabeth.
I'll be at Bright Hills Birthday+Investiture tomorrow, so I'm looking forward to seeing whoever among you will be there.
