So, I just got back from seeing Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (sp?). I thought it was great. I am one of those people who has not read any of the books, and I've really enjoyed experiencing these movies without any knowledge of what's going to happen next. I like how my understanding of this world is placed in the hands of the director and actors of the movies and how so far they have done an amazing job. I've always wanted to read these books, but I think I'm gonna wait till I see all seven movies before I read the books because I really like the surprises. Although I do realize the good things about reading the books first, such as being able to fully appreciate how the book was translated to film and to be able to appreciate every little minute thing. This is how it was for me with Lord of the Rings, and I liked that. But for now, I'm liking how my Harry Potter experiences have been going so far, so I think I'm gonna keep with it.
Some people may find it crazy, but there's nothing I love more than a midnight premiere. Here's to waiting till May 2005 for Episode III.....please don't mess this one up for me George Lucas, it's all I have left.
In other news, I got my 20 page paper back today, and my professor really liked it, I got an A. It feels so good to get such a good grade on something that I actually worked hard on (be it only 24 hours of hard work, but still hard work) and something I care about a lot. Anyways, my professor wants me to work with him next fall in an independent study course where I'd work on my paper some more and develop some of the ideas with the goal being to publish my paper in a professional journal of some sorts. Plus I'd get 2 units of credit for it. Sounds like an awesome opportunity and I also really like this professor, so getting to work with him some more would be fun. My professor is gonna put a link on his website with all the papers on it, when he does, I'll post it here so that anyone interested can read it. It's about the Digital Music "problem" and a discussion of the solutions to this problem, so it's something that most of you would find interesting, so I recommend giving it a read.
Ok, class in 6.5 hours, time for bed.
