( This is not turning out at all like I expected. )

Well. It's certainly been an eventful three days. So eventful I haven't really been able to claim office space nor meet much with my department head.

I did manage to start settling in to my quarters, however. Not that that wasn't a bit fraught with peril, too, as it turns out.

It's a strange and exciting new world, being a part of this expedition. I'm surrounded by both the familiar and the strangely exotic. It's unusual to see the soldiers running around the Lost City with a kind of awe on their faces; I'm used to seeing it from fellow scientists but it's...strange to see it in place on the faces of men and women ( Read more... )
