Reunion ended up being worth the long drive. Not too many people I knew showed up, but got to spend quality time with friends I don't hang with nearly enough, which was great. It was fun to reconnect with some people who I hadn't seen in years, and in many cases meet their kids! A bit weird in general, as the time away made me really feel like one of the "older" alums. And the campus felt somehow smaller and more run-down, though the new construction is exciting. Revisiting the dingy music studio practice rooms made me wonder how I survived so many hours down there! And made me wish I could donate enough to make them a better and brighter place to be. Stayed with Scaz & Kristi, and discovered that Mirin has become much more verbal and interactive than last I spent much time with her (last Sept) -- she was adorable and creative and fun to play with. Cool when my friends' kids start growing up and behaving more and more like little people!

And detoured by NYC for Sunday, since I was so close I couldn't not stop. Rejuvenating quality time. Morgan and I just chilled, had a relaxing afternoon and a really yummy dinner at a nearby Brazilian place we discovered. Reunion meant that our normal 2-week visiting schedule got shifted to a 3-week interval (though MemDay means a long weekend together!), so it felt good to have at least a quick fix. Ain't long-distance grand...
