That was really really beautiful. I think you have Jack perfect. I really loved the bit about pouring everything in to the kiss. I also love Captain Jacks disappointment in himself and the realizing that things must look different from Ianto's perspective. (And what did I do? I left).

Thank you....I really appreciate the feedback. I was worried about this story....of everything I've written so far, its Jack and Ianto I find the hardest. It's because I worry I am interpreting it from a personal aspect instead of a canon aspect.

Yeah I understand what you mean. I've only just got brave enough to attempt some fictions. There are so many things you have to worry about. The way I see it is I really really enjoy when the way the characters are written is how I see them on TV. If they are not written like that, at least someone is bringing something creative and from a new perspective to the table. But you had nothing to worry about!

I love letters between Jack and Ianto, and this is so beautiful, i adore the Ella Fitzgerald lyric(s) in it. I love that you've examined both view points from Jacks point of view; it makes it all the more...real (as it were); showing that he really does care.

Thank you! Believe it or not, this was the 20th idea I had over the month we had to write (we had a choice between 2 sets of lyrics, and I chose this one over the DuranDuran ones). And I wrote and trashed so many different stories because none of them were coming out right. And believe it or not, this piece got written in an hour last night when it suddenly hit me what I really wanted to write. It was inspired by the discussion on torchwood_meta about Jack's character, and my almost "fear" of writing Jack/Ianto. I wanted to challenge myself to get past that.
