Somebody call 119!
I woke up early this morning (about 3am) to find myself ON FIRE.
This is so not a joke. I wish it were. The comforter I had been sleeping under got too close to the heater and it caught fire. Luckily I was not burned, but I woke up because of choking smoke and extreme heat. SOMEHOW I managed to smother the fire and turn off both the heaters and open some windows to let the smoke out. All of this was done in a daze of half-wakefulness. Unfortunately now my whole place reeks of CHARRED REMAINS. But the only thing actually damaged (and it was completely destroyed) was the comforter. I'm going to have to go buy a new one today.
Some of you might be wondering why I was sleeping with a space heater so dangerously close. Yes, well...JAPAN IS COLD. Literally it's either freeze to death or burn to death apparently.
Man, that freaked me out. I want to go home, like NOW. But instead I have to get some febreeze or something so I can continue living here. I'm also glad none of the Japanese people ever have to know about this. They'd be coming over to check on my heaters every friggin' day if they knew.
In other news. It snowed again. I'd be more excited if I were less cold.
