Okay, as blues songs go, the lyrics suck. And the situation isn't quite as bad as I make it sound. My grant didn't get canned, but I have to delay submission for several months because the head mentor is leaving. (*headwall*) I never HAD an academic slush fund, so technically it couldn't get canned, either...
However, my most recent manuscript did just get rejected today by a general medicine journal. It'll probably be a day or so before I can make myself look at the reviews.
