What are you like in the morning?
That depends on whether or not I actually slept the night before.
I’m more of a night person than a morning person. Although with enough coffee, I can do either. On any given day, it takes me a little while to get moving in the morning. When I’m at home, I usually read the paper with a cup of coffee. Or spend some time reading a book. At work, I usually try to plan some time to do basic, easy things - routine maintenance on Kitt, simple coding, catching up on paperwork. If I really need to think something through, if I need to be sharp, I try to put it off until later.
But if I haven’t slept, dawn is completely invigorating. There’s something about the sun coming up that just pulls me out of any sleep-deprived stupor. I can be dead tired and about to nod off at my computer around four, but fully awake and alert when the sun starts to turn the clouds pink. I guess it makes sense, the human body is meant to be at its peak during the day, but it’s something I’ve always found a bit surprising.
