My sound editing project was a bitch, but I still managed to finish it. I took Glass Onion by the Beatles and REE-Mixed it, MC Smallpock style. It was quite enjoyable actually, and got my creative juices flowing, but after a while, splicing together two different sin waves into one coherent sound complete with a crossfade at 3 in the morning just gets to be a pain.
Reading week is now upon me, which started off with the news of Radek's father passing. I attended the wake on Saturday, and this'll sound corny, but it was inspiring to see how strong Radek was. I gave him my blessing then had to leave for a family event. Also, bonus points to my parents, as they drove me to the funeral home and went in with me to give their prayers to Radek. No doubt I have classy parents. I really wanted to go to the funeral today, but I has no way of getting there in time, but my thoughts are with his entire family.
Thursday I'm off to Quebec for a few days to visit my grandmother and cousins, which means legal barhopping and a nice cuban cigar with my uncle James. ah, family memories, like the time he took me and my buddy Robin to a strip club at 4 in the afternoon. That's one to tell the grandkids!
On an ending note, Robert Norman Smith, the Alexander Keith's commercial spokesman, was arrested on charges of child pornography earlier this week. Keith's is my second favourite beer out there (first being Creemore Springs. That stuff is smooooth), so I was disgusted and sad to hear about this. Plus, this is a major blow for Nova Scotia. What was once the pride of the province is now a shameful reminder of perversion. What the fuck do they have to be proud of now?! Thanks a lot asshole!
