Thank you to everyone who's sending prayers to my cousin's family. They really need them right now, so keep them coming! They've pretty much alienated themselves by telling us little to nothing about what's going on. I'm not sure if that's better or worse, because I had a mini-panic attack this morning thinking about him and what could happen as a result of all this crap.
On the "up" side, I put a bid in on a house today. If they accept this offer, I'll be a happy camper indeed - it's pretty low, and they're offering to pay the balance for the HOA which is supposed to go up later this year and continue through 2017. It's a really nice 3 bedroom, and if I'm able to get a roommate, my monthly fee would be minimal. Of course, I'll be putting a good chunk in as down payment, but I should still have a good "nest egg" (as my mother calls it) regardless. We're hoping to hear back in 24-48 hours, although I'm anticipating at a least a week of back-and-forth negotiations about the price. So we'll see!
This will be a two-day teaching week thanks to midterms, but that also means that I have a sheep ton (yeah, I said "sheep") of grading for the end of the quarter (Friday) and I still have to right the stupid test. Study guide needs to be completed tonight so that I can send it out via e-mail - I promised the kids I would have it out over the weekend, even though no one will look at it - despite the fact that the exam itself is still imaginary.
