Mazel tov!

Talk about an epic day! A and I went to church this morning, I napped and was then woken by the lovely and much-missed inkdancer who had proposed we take a drive out to the park. The weather was absolutely gorgeous today, and if it weren't for her, I probably wouldn't have dragged myself out to enjoy it. So we drove around, romped through the woods, attempted to get ourselves lost in the greater Gibsonville area, and then ended with an exploration of one of the campus' lakes in search of the elusive beaver families that call it "home."

And wonder of wonders: I attended my first (admittedly, not "official") Jewish wedding! The Hillel organization on campus hosted a mock ceremony with two young women as the chatan and kalla. I dragged wildcard_47 along, but we hadn't gotten settled before I was recruited to help hold the chuppa! Real wedding or no, it was quite an honor. And then there was punch and cupcakes and random wedding guests hoisting the brides and their "parents" (played by fellow students) in chairs while we danced around them in a precarious hora.

I'm off to enjoy left-over challah bread with my chicken noodle soup. La'chaim!

fun
