So I'm back at work, which means back to internet. I've been away all this time partly because tumblr and facebook took up almost all my online time, and because I haven't got internet at home

I don't know how up to date you are with anime o manga in general, but the last hype, the definitely must-see series is Shingeki no Kyojin - although after you're done with the first 24 episodes you have to wait for the second season, as it is an ongoing manga. It's exciting, highly dramatic and pretty intense, with excellent animation and a great voice cast (I only know the Japanese version). It's about the will to survive and the fighting spirit of humanity, set approximately 2000 years into the future, in the aftermath of an attack that almost erased mankind. The attackers are titans (giant anthropomorph creatures) which have apparently one weakness...but I don't want to spoil your fun. Just watch the first episode and you'll see

I've actually seen Shingeki no Kyojin because it was so hyped that even I, in my anime wasteland, caught wind of it. I actually had some trouble getting into it at first. Mainly because I hated Eren. But then Levi showed up and I loved it. From the Female Titan on was non-stop amazing to me.
I can't wait to see the rest of these. You make them all sound so good. :D
Why did you hate on poor Eren bb? It's ok, I hated everything about the series until titan!Eren appeared - too many plot holes, me thinks - and I agree: the last 5-6 episodes were breathless. I hope you like them! :D
Ugh. I think everything I dislike about Eren is in that scene where he's in the woods with Levi, trying to escape from the Female Titan, and he keeps dithering about whether he should abandon the plan and turn into a Titan or not and he just keeps going on and on and over reacting and finally Levi is just like, "Do it or don't, already!" I dunno, I feel like they use Eren's panic as filler and it gets old.
Totally agree about the last 5-6 episodes! Completely made up for whatever I found lacking in the opening.
I'm happy to hear that you're doing well! It's so fantastic that you got to be on stage, especially since you always wanted to do it.
And I've been really meaning to get myself back into anime, so, could you possibly give me some recs?
I've missed you!
