Land of the Lost Movie Premiere

So last night I went to the "Land of the Lost" Movie Premiere. Like the actually Hollywood premiere that celebrities go to. Only I didn't know it until I got there.

My friend Dina facebook messaged me earlier in the week, telling me she got free tickets to a "Land of the Lost" screening premiere. My eyes carefully brushed over the word premiere. I thought she just got tickets to a normal screening. I dress in jeans and a t-shirt, since I was just hanging around my apartment all day before. She picked me up, wearing a simple skirt and a nice t-shirt. I asked her if I should change and she was all like "No, no. I just wanted to be girly today." So we went to Hollywood, and then I realize IT'S THE ACTUAL PREMIERE. There were gates around the entrance to the theatre, and fans were leaning over them, snapping as many pictures as they possibly could. There were security guards there, as well as people in fancy dresses. I was immediately like "oh, shit, I'm wearing jeans." No one said anything, I was still allowed in, and I noticed a handful of others wearing jeans too. That eased my stomach too.

We also got a ticket for a free popcorn and soda (yay!). In the lobby stood Randy Jackson. I really wanted to go up to him and call him "Dawg" but I just stood there gawking, until he made eye contact with me, then I ran into the bathroom.

Dina and I took our seats. We saw Brooke Shields walk around. Then, before the movie started Will Ferrell walks in, and everyone claps for him. He took his seat.

The movie was decent. I thought it was funny -- but what I really enjoyed was the atmosphere. When the movie ended Bryan Fuller walks by. For those of you who don't know Bryan Fuller, he was the creator of "Pushing Daisies," "Dead Like Me," and "Wonderfalls." And I am a HUGE fan. I turn to Dina and say "Is that Bryan Fuller?" Bryan HEARS me and turns around. He comes up to us and shakes our hands. He tells us how good it is to see us. HE WAS PRETENDING LIKE HE KNEW US! It was awesome. I played along and was like "So you came to support Anna, huh?" (Anna Friel, who was in the movie, was in "Pushing Daisies"), and he was all like "Yeah." Then he asked us if we were going to the after party, and I said we weren't, but asked where it was.

As we were leaving the theater we saw: Chris Parnell and Hiro from "Heroes." Dina thought she saw Tina Fey, but wasn't sure.

We followed everyone to after party, but there was a TON of security and a list that you had to be on to get in. If I was wearing a fancy dress, I would have tried harder to get in, but my street clothes labeled me as a civilian.

All in all, it was a fantastic time. It just reinforced how lucky I am to live out here and experience things like this. Maybe I'm a celebrity whore, but it's okay, because that's where I live :)
