Some questions about two Sirs

Have put under a cut because I'm not sure what the comm's spoiler policy is, but the questions only ask about one S2 character (no spoilers) and one S1 character.

Also, Edith called AS's late wife "Lady Strallen", but that doesn't make her the equivalent of Cora, "Lady Grantham", and AS isn't called "Lord Strallen", so how come his late wife has the same sort of title as Cora?

Sorry, missed this!

The titles are actually different. "Strallan" is Anthony's surname, "Grantham" is Robert's title. Maud Strallan is Lady Stallan because that is how you address the wife of a baronet - Lady Surname. Cora is Cora Crawley, Lady Grantham - incorporating the surname and title. She is never Lady Crawley. She is also never Lady Cora - because that implies she has the title from her father rather than her husband.

But would Cora have been Lady Cora before Violet's husband died? And actually what would Robert have been then? Would he be a Viscount? I think I remember something about Viscount Downton, but I'm not sure.
