Before rushing off to dinner and buying Heroes, Lost, & Six Feet Under on pirated DVD. Huzzah!

"It is taken for granted that a good postwar situation is the result of victory, the bad the result of defeat. ... Victory is not at all necessary for the achievement of aims. ... [Captain B.H. Liddell Hart] was unique in the military profession in that he questioned the role of victory on the battlefield. 'The object in war,' wrote Liddell Hart, 'is a better state of peace - even if only from your point of view. Hence, it is essential to conduct war with constant regard to the pecea your desire." -- from the first chapter of Shimon Tzabar's The White Flag Principle: How to Lose a War (and Why)

I watched this music video on MYX, the local music video channel, when I was in high school that reminded me of a really dark 'Toy Story'. It breaks your heart in that charming articulate way, and the desire to see it again has been nagging me for the past few days. I only remember that its song title was "Sometimes", but apparently this is enough to get Wikipedia to help me out.
Enjoy, or feel slightly disturbed, or your preferred combination of the two: Les Rhythmes Digitales - "Sometimes"

This Filipino jazz-funk group is riding high and well. Everyone here is singing their praises. My little brother said they performed at our school for Filipiniana Week a couple years ago when they were but a wee thing. Wish I had caught that, 'cos they are rocking my face off. The singer's hot too. Sino Sikat? means "who's famous?", 'akin ka' means "that's mine", or like some interjection of claiming something. I'm not sure what 'praning' means. Enjoy:

Sino Sikat? - So Blue. The single.
Sino Sikat? - Praning. The attitude song.
Sino Sikat? - Akin Ka. Jazzing it up.
