Hawks, you really need to learn to play a consistent game. That first half sucked hairy monkey balls. I know they were blitzing practically every other play, but did you see how much better we did once we went to the no-huddle offense? Here's a radical idea for next week against the Eagles: start with the hurry-up.
Also, I'm fairly certain that in every other alternate reality with the NFL, the Rams won today's game. You know why they didn't in ours? WE WERE FUCKING LUCKY, that's why. A fourth-and-goal fumbled snap at the one-yard-line is NOT something we can count on every week.
Notes for next Sunday:
~ Be better at picking up the blitz. Matt going into the shotgun helped a lot, even if Mike doesn't like it.
~ Burleson needs to work on following his routes--that interception was his fault, not Matt's.
~ Burleson also needs to work on keeping the ball when he takes a hard hit; if he'd had it pulled in, he wouldn't have given it to them less than thirty yards away from their own goal line.
~ Josh Brown, I love you, but your kicking has been hit and miss lately. You used to make these shots--what happened?
~ We were doing so well with penalties: thirteen games with four or less. We ended that run today, but let's cut that down again next week.
