Title: Ten Songs: Song Challenge
Beautiful-Me’ Shell Ndegeocello
Olivia Benson loved going to court when she did not have to testify. It was one of the only times that she could stare at Alex Cabot without being noticed. The blond was just so beautiful, so beautiful. So Olivia stared and appreciated God’s magnificent creation.
Train Wreck-Sarah McLachlan
It was not smooth, or sexy, or deliberate. Alex Cabot thought Olivia was going to hug her so she stood with arms extended and a serene smile on her face. Olivia faltered, looked over Alex’s shoulder at Elliot’s youngest daughter, then back to Alex. Alex noticing that Olivia stood frozen looked over her own shoulder at Elliot holding a birthday cake, laughed, and forced Olivia into a fierce hug. “Happy birthday, Liv” Alex whispered blushing furiously.
Forgotten-Linkin Park
Every night before Alex went to sleep she said a prayer for Olivia and whispered “I love you’ to the heavens. She would never the forget woman that loved her so completely. Alex prayed for Olivia’s safety and her own safety. She did this every night before falling into a restless sleep in the arms of her claims adjuster.
A New Day Has Come-Celine Dion
Olivia did not think she deserved love, she had been alone for so long she did not even think she was capable of love. Too many interrupted dates, one night stands, and failed relationships led her to believe that the possibility of love was just not possible for her. It was not until Alex Cabot said for the first time, “I love you Olivia” that the stoic detective believed that a new day had indeed come.
Because I Love You-Stevie B
Alex did not want to believe that the last memory she would ever have of Olivia was the strong detective standing in a dark field crying. Olivia’s shaky “how long” broke Alex’s heart. So Alex argued with Agent Hammond and finally got the okay to send a letter to Olivia. The letter was simple but said all Alex could at the time. Olivia, I never was able to express to you what my heart yearned to reveal. My heart is yours Olivia. Please be happy, be strong, and remember me. My brave capable beautiful detective, please know that you are loved.
The Warrior-Scandal
Olivia danced around the living room a shoe held firm in her hand. Alex stood screeching on the coffee table pointing at anything she thought moved, “there Liv, kill it!” Olivia hopped from one foot to the other ready to pounce. Just as Elliot rounded the corner Olivia flopped on the floor holding the furry creature in her hands. Elliot looked angrily at the couple, “whose bright idea was it to buy a hamster for the twins?” Olivia laughed heartily and pointed to the cowering prosecutor.
Giving You Back-Robyn
Olivia had no right to be jealous. She was not involved with Alex; in fact they were nothing more than friends. Yet Olivia sat in the fancy restaurant next to fancy people in overpriced dresses and expensive suits. She hated Trevor Langan, she hated Alex, and she hated the waiter that helpfully offered her and Elliot each glasses of water. Olivia sat fuming angrily expecting Trevor to apologize for asking her love interest on a date. Olivia was not even sure if would she be able to get over the hurt of seeing Alex in that devastating red dress, luscious blond locks flowing, on a date with Trevor. So at that moment Olivia was jealous and hated herself for even caring.
Song for You-Michael Buble
Olivia held Alex to her as the two stood shivering in the cold January air. The news cameras were long gone, the trial was over, and so there was no need to still stand on the courthouse steps on the blustery winter morning. Alex’s hand moved from the detective’s bicep and grasped the strong hand. Olivia’s head shot up and met Alex’s eyes. Alex smiled softly and whispered, “Yes, Olivia, I feel it too.”
Broken By You-Jordan Knight
Olivia hated being needy; she hated needing to be reassured. She had told Alex that it was okay to begin again and that she could not bear the thought of Alex being lonely. Olivia had all but told Alex to see other people, so she hated needing to be assured that she was still in Alex’s heart. As Alex moved from the hotel window, Olivia asked her again about the claims adjuster. Alex sighed softly, “Olivia, he does not even compare.”
I Wanna Be Loved-Average White Band
Olivia finished setting the table, lighting the candles, and turning on the CD player. Alex who had been in the bedroom for over fifteen minutes glided into the living room dressed in the black negligee Olivia had picked out for Valentine’s Day. Olivia gasped as Alex pushed her onto the couch, straddled her waist and pressed her body into Olivia. Olivia moaned, Alex hissed, and the CD repeated for the fifth time.
