when music really mattered

So, there's been this recurring thing. I'm planning to have my hair up for the wedding, probably in some kind of twisty chignon thingy. I've been planning on getting a flower comb to put in it; some really pretty, big ivory silk flower to wear after I take off my veil.

I've been searching for flowers and poking at Etsy, and whenever I think of wearing a flower in my hair, this song starts rolling through. It's this vague memory of a song, one I couldn't really pin down. I knew it was a woman's voice, it was rhythmic and lyrical and beautiful. But I couldn't remember the song.

It's been MONTHS of this, me humming this fragment of a chorus in my head, and today I finally tracked it down. Surprise, surprise-- it's Sandi Thom's, "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)"

It won't let me embed it, but just-- Go, listen. Seriously.

I'm really, really, really tempted to find a way to play it in our ceremony. Because that day I'll be an adult, all grown up and getting married, but I'll still just be a punk rocker with a flower in my hair.
