So, uh. Life. Bullet points, to keep us all sane (since I haven’t actually updated in a while).
- Red Sox! I went to TWO Sox games thus far this season. gone_shaughraun’s friend had them, couldn’t use them, and sold them for face value. FACE. VALUE. Amazing. The first ones were to a Tampa Bay game, up in the Infield Grandstand out by third base; I took Sasha, since he’s one of my friends who looooves baseball, but hadn’t been to a game at Fenway in YEARS. We lost, but it was a great game; midafternoon, great spring weather, just divine.
The next game I wanted to take Peter (another friend who loves baseball and hasn’t been to Fenway in ages), but he had to work. Sasha had class. And lo, what madness-I took Wes. He usually wants other people to go who would enjoy it more, but he caved this time. We had an AWESOME time-Wes really enjoyed himself, and it was a great game. It was the April 17 game against the Orioles-yeah, the one when we were down 7-0 after that grand slam, and then came BACK to win it 10-8. HELLS YES. Such a good time.
I hope I keep getting tickets-my uncle’s had some to give to me a couple times, and those are amazing, amaaaaazing seats (Loge box? Pavilion? *swoon*), so I’ll keep my fingers crossed. I have a long list of people who I want to take (Suzie! Peter! Sasha!), if I get more. I love being in the city-getting that phone call from my uncle (“got tickets for tonight, you want ‘em?”) is amazing.
- I’ve got my Fantasy Team up and running. I’m the Two Seaming Tarts (after all that), and right now I’m in the bottom two, consistently. Ouch, ouch-need to do more trades, methinks. Oh, dang, I was going to pick up a pitcher. *goes*
- In the Crazyface World of Life, Wes is doing well, besides that random bout with pneumonia. Wes does this thing- he’s healthy as a horse for three years, then gets waylaid with a cold/flu SO BAD that he’s done for a week. This was no exception. He was sick for about a week, fever, chills, aches, and a nasty cough. I was worried for a while there, but he made it fine, of course.
- Right in the middle of his flu was his deadline for his Brandeis application. Did I not mention that? Yeah, he was asked (by his possible adviser) to apply to Brandeis RIGHT NOW (she gave him, like a week) to start in January next year. She basically told him that he was accepted (since she gets so few applicants to her research, she can tell the admissions board who she needs), and now it’s a matter of administrative mumbo jumbo to see if he can start in January. We haven’t heard anything officially, as of yet, so cross your fingers (we should hear by the end of this week or next).
- In MY life, things have been.... busy. My boss just went to India for work, then took a week off for vacation in Cabo. We’re only two weeks away from Alumni Weekend (I keep reminding Tom of the exact number of weeks, and getting dirty looks, heh), so the phone is starting to get busy, and we’re buzzing around. I’m supposed to be Out There At Events this year (as opposed to being chained to the desk), so that’s cool, and kind of intimidating. Very exciting.
- In less Srs Bsns, Mom’s taking me for a pedicure this weekend!!! My first EVER! I’m so, so excited. I’m debating between some pinky pale color or CRAZY FIRE RED. Decisions, decisions. I also am debating if I should get a manicure, too, but I dunno. I don’t think it would last to Alumni Weekend (thirteen days?), but still. Pretty nails!
