STARBUCKS, THIS IS A RECESSION. STOP TEMPTING ME WITH YOUR AMAZING ASSORTMENT OF TEAS

Half Three quarters of the reason why I prefer Starbucks over Dunkin Donuts (BOSTONIAN SACRILEGE, I KNOW) is because I can't drink coffee. My wallet, my Boston-born-and-bred compunctions, and my sleep habits all despise this, believe you me. But it gives me ( Read more... )

This, coming from the woman who OWNS AN ESPRESSO MACHINE AND MILK FROTHER that she NEVER USES. Maybe I'll confiscate that so I CAN make these delicious drinks at home (since the 'latte' part of the beverage is the steamed milk!). Until then, it's plain Earl Grey for me!

Yeah, but I like pure espresso, no milk, so why bother. You, on the other hand, love all that fancy stuff, SB has you by the balls. :-D

You like pure espresso, that you have a fancy machine for, that you don't even make. I like tea, with or without the frothy milk. I make it at home, it's straight up, with some sugar or honey, maybe a dash of milk. If I'm out, I'll get the latte (if I'm there, why not?).

And hey-- work has plain Earl Grey for FREE, and I certainly don't pass that one up!!

well, a fancy machine doesn't match the results of a really professional espresso maker, so I'd rather not. Bad espresso is bad espresso.

So, just enjoy your tea any way you make it, and treat yourself occasionally with one of the fancy SB blends.

Earl Grey, hot............ yes, you can has hot.

Guh. I'd think bad espresso is even WORSE than bad coffee, right? It's a delicate burnt flavor at best, and at worst, just BURNT. :-O

Exactly, exactly. I take it FREE five days a week at work, brewed at home (Earl Grey, black breakfast tea, chamomille blends and raspberry tea for soothing other ailments...), and fancy frou-frou when I'm out and feeling frisky (alliteration!). I don't know if the Earl Grey latte will be delicious or horrible, but I'll probably report back. :D

If only we had a replicator.... Earl Grey, hot; bagel and schmear, toasted; and finish up with a bowl of fresh strawberries and raspberries, mmmmm. Doesn't that sound like a divine breakfast?

Only change the Earl Grey to Peets dark roast and I'm there.
