I can has warm and tent thoughts

Apathy got me and I failed to make it to anywhere but Bunnings. Pole wood duly purchased, and some f-off nails to be the end spikes. Plus actual heat globes for the bathroom heat lamp. When we moved in the only switch that produced light in the bathroom was the heat switch, which lit one globe. It didn't feel very warm, and was decently bright so apathy led to it not changing until that globe blew. At which point an energy saving bulb which happened to be in the cupboard was placed in the "light" socket and darkness was averted. I am very fond of heat lamps in bathrooms, particularly on cold mornings so I took one of the blown "heat" globes to Bunnings. Where I discovered another example of the foolishness of the previous owners, the old globes were not heat globes at all but outdoor flood light globes. I had wondered why they weren't very warm compared to he ones at my parents' house. 8->   All fixed now. Yay for warm bathrooms on cold winter mornings.

This is going to turn out to be a very cheap tent. $75 for canvas, $15 for pole wood, $2 for spikes, I have rope in stash I think will work, and I think I have the leather. If I don't 2 ropes and some scrap leather won't add much. I think I am looking at a $100 tent, more or less. OK the canvas is insanely cheap, but the process needs documenting to point all the people who say they can't afford a period tent. I paid a bit over $200 for my modern hiking tent and that was on special. 8->

It will be interesting to see if we can get this tent cut out and sewn at craft-hall on Monday. I will bring my (slightly defunct) sunshade poles for trial purposes. Unless I can get some pipe to finish the proper ones tomorrow, and I suspect that won't be a Sunday thing. Uncut, the poles don't fit in the car. I had the wood sticking out of the window to get it home. 8->
