Yo Gabba Gabba and Life

Here are some things I'm learning about life and parenting from Yo Gabba Gabba.

1) Some of the most important opportunities for growth happen when you're not trying to learn anything.

2) Everybody--even a small child--knows when somebody is trying to "work on" you, whether they're trying to teach you something, or sell you something, or make you into something, and it inspires a lot of trust when you find somebody who isn't "working on" you, but would rather just dance and have fun.

3) Music, dance, and art are valuable in and of themselves.

4) There are many people in this world with whom we would never in a million years leave our children, but we'd also never in a million years pass up the chance for our kids to get to know them.

5) Even kids can enjoy being part of a subculture that mainstream culture doesn't understand.

6) I want my daughter to think of the universe as a friendly place.

Anyway, six random thoughts about a completely random show that I enjoy more each time I see it. :-)
