Sherri leaves Earl, Karate class
Well today was another day blah blah blah, some things of interest at the X-wifes house, her friend (and mine for the last 9 years)from the country (this'll interest you Shann) Sherri has left her husband and childhood sweetheart. She said he's had a change in attitude lately (I'm thinking midlife crisis, this'll be a nice bump in the road for him)She already has a boyfriend up here she's been seeing for I think a month or two. When he found out the "fit hit the shan" And he hit her, the cops were called but nobody was taken to jail, she got her stuff and came up sunday night. She went back down monday to...from what I understand pretend to smooth things over....playing a game I guess, anyway she's back up here now...or on her way I guess he figured it out because from what her daughter told me, he hit her again, stepping on their baby to get at her. She has filed a restraining order against him at this point. Oh the fun.
Karate was very informative tonight. Our black belts were learning how to be judges/ref as we was learning tournament etiquette. Hehehehe you know for the people who listened there was a heap of knowledge, even in what was'nt said. One thing that was said to pay attention to the judges, see who's got a good eye for your shots and take the fight in front of him/her.
Something not said, if you don't like a certain judge you can cut them out with your body placement this I learned as sensei Hanson talked to the black belts to find out their reasoning behind their calls. I think this was probably a lost on.....well most of the class, there was a lot of jabbering as they were conferring. What can I say they should have listened.
At one point I was called upon to be the angry parent so I yelled to Kevin at a point "How could you make that call!!! Are you blind!!! Sensei Hanson came over and showed everyone how to deal with a heckler it was amusing to say the least. She told me my child would lose a point, I made to argue and she stomped me with a threat to kick my kid out of the tournament.
When Kourtney sparred she sparred against Arnicia a purple belt with nice skills, Kourtney won?!?!? I was surprised to say the least that was the best I've seen her spar:)
After class Terri, Sarah, Kevin, Kourtney, and I hung out for a bit. Kourtney and Terri are planing to do a team kata Terri wanted me to join but until friday I won't know.
I was going to have Kourtney do a kata above her belt but after talking to Sarah I think it would be a bad idea, if Kourtney could do all her katas perfect then maybe, otherwise it would look pompas...we'll see.
Now I'm at home...awake, yay, go me....
