Millionaire's New Format

Sep 14, 2010 13:09

Yeah, first LJ post in a long time. I've been lazy. :P

Anyway, I was able to catch the premiere of the new season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire last night (1:37am... yeah). After everything that I've heard about the new format of the show, I was feeling kinda cautious. In a way, they tried to maintain the feel of the show, but at the same time, it felt quite different. In the end, though, I have to say that I don't have much of a problem with it. I know of a few people who have been thinking differently, but now that I've seen the premiere, I actually don't mind it.

It also helped that millionairetv.com has a new online game to demonstrate the new format. I did learn of a few things that could come into play thanks to that; for one, if you somehow get to the million dollar question with one or both Jumps remaining, those Jumps are taken away. I suppose that makes sense, since with the way the Jump works (you skip the question, but you don't receive its value), using one on the final question of the stack could be considered the same as just walking with what you have.

Overall, I actually am looking forward to this new season. Whether it'll work out in the long run, though, remains to be seen.
