It's 1996 again, and I'm obsessed w/ The Sisters Of Mercy and TNI by Front Line Assembly. The former is surprisingly good and holds its own well after all these years. The latter suffers from the usual horrendous lyrics and vocals, but still rocks so hard that it's okay. Also, Mr. Leeb somehow manages to tuck the really awful bits (eg: "digital murder / the language of machines") into the barely legible verses and the meaningless-yet-cool-sounding bits ("mesmerized by a decade of faith / flowers and remorse") into the more legible verses.
[Why I'm prattling on about the lyrical contents of FLA songs from '92, I'm not sure. Perhaps because it's 3:30 am and I'm delirious.]
Yesterday: painted and cleaned like a motherfucker. The apartment is now mostly de-uglified. In fact, I think it looks fuckin HOT. The kitchen and bedroom are done (w/ much help from Nicole), and now just the living room needs a bit o' sanding and a paint job, and the whole place will be complete. I spent tonight packing -- I feel like I'm actually doing things right this move. Usually I just procrastinate, then do all my packing the night before and end up staying up all night. Anyhow: I'm psyched about the new place, and just a bit apprehensive about the plumbing. Okay, I'm honestly freaked about the plumbing. But hey, it looks nice, and I'm all about style over substance.
Once this moving ordeal is behind me, I face England. Which I am most fucking psyched about, indeed.
