I reuploaded my Ryan Adams sampler! If you haven't heard of him before you should go and download it anyway because he is fucking AMAZING. Really, the boy knows how to write an evocative, heartbreaking song.
Edit: And now, the Ryan Adams »» bandom connection I forgot to completely flail over months ago. Ryan Adams and Adam Duritz are pretty good mates, they've written songs together and sung on one another's albums and I'm pretty sure they've dated a few of the same women. Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco have publicly fangirled Adam Duritz and the Counting Crows (because they are amazing obvs, though I still don't know what I feel about Panics cover of "Round Here"). In the liner notes of the most recent CC album (released on the same day as Panic's Pretty. Odd. omgz) Adam Duritz writes the following:

UGH. I JUST ABOUT DIED. Especially because before this back in February rebecca_star and myself were idly discussing a Ryan Adams/Jon Walker college!AU where they basically just hang around playing guitars and getting stoned. And boning. (Um, and Ryan can either have ten years knocked off his age or be one of those dudes that is is university forever.)
The music snob in me is still a bit, "Ryan Ross next to Ryan Adams... REALLY?" though.
Ugh, but Panic/Ryan Adams would work so well! Ryan and Brendon can bond over a love of cowboy shirts and hyper-manic behaviour, the Ryans can bond over a dubious sense of fashion and being rly rly angsty and talk about their their ART and, as stated, Ryan and Jon can get stoned and be hairy Real Dudes together... and Spencer can join in now that he has a beard.
Actually, Ryan and Gerard Way/My Chem would probably get along quite well as well. They're both ex-addicts (though Ryan still smokes pot), artists, comic book nerds, have mental health issues, are emotional little dudes filled to the brim with painful sincerity, and have huge boners for Black Flag and Morrissey et al.

Edit2: Because violentfires reminded me that the Panic boys namecheck Ryan in their Live At Abbey Road session. It's somewhere in part one, I think, but you should watch that and part two because they sound freaking fantastic and they are so full of sass in the the interview portions. (Spencer James Smith the Fifth I am looking at YOU.) MASSIVEHEARTEYES.
