We got several work emails today, which, considering our current schedule, was somewhat alarming, but ultimately it turned out to be good things. We did get another book added to our "due within the next month" list, but it's the final volume of our beloved Noragami! That's actually good and bad news for several reasons. We're happy to work on the next volume, sad that it's over, relieved that they didn't reassign it for some reason... (The book came out in Japan months ago, and the current set of editors at that publisher doesn't seem to love us as much (nothing personal, I'm sure--they just haven't gotten to know us yet), so we get irrationally worried sometimes.)
Of course, trying to squeeze a volume of Noragami into an already packed schedule is also not ideal, but! one of our other work emails came with the very happy news that two of the scary deadlines I mentioned yesterday have been pushed back. Or at least one of them definitely has, and that strongly implies that the other has, as well. If we turn out to be wrong about it, we'll just have really crack down and get that second one done extremely soon after the, "Hey, where's this translation?" email shows up.
And on top of that, the sort-of rush project we agreed to is looking like it won't be super time-consuming. I mean, it's still too soon to count any chickens, but we think it will be okay. There's a very good chance that we won't be crushed under work in the next four weeks, and that is very happy news indeed.
Today I'm thankful for deadlines getting pushed back, getting the last Noragami assignment, work going pretty well, Athena making it to first place on general survivor mode in Nintendo World Championships (twice!), and getting to sleep in tomorrow.
busyness,
