We ended up having to work overtime today, because we looked at our schedule and realized that oh hey, this book we haven't started yet is technically due tomorrow! The "technically" is because a perhaps-overworked project manager was making up a schedule for our next slew of assignments, and she had this one listed as being due on 2/31. We didn't want to make anyone feel awkward by pointing out that that's not a real day, and there was a pretty darn good chance that it would end up being changed anyway, so we just put it on our calendar for the last real day of February and went about our business.
Now that project manager has moved on to brighter pastures (hopefully), and the higher ups are still trying to organize everything now that she's gone, so we're not entirely sure anyone knows this particular translation needs to be expected at all. But they will want it eventually, so we're going to do our best to turn it in as soon as is reasonable! Unfortunately, we have another book due on 3/6, which seems to be pretty high priority because the publisher wants it on that day despite the fact that the Japanese version won't be available to us until 3/4. It's a pretty easy-to-translate series, so that shouldn't be a problem, but it does mean we'll want to have this first one out of the way. And that means we have to hustle!
The good news about it all is that they're all fun series. The other good news is that Cecille has decided to go on to Europe ahead of us so she can visit with her friend in Germany, and we won't be depriving her of any opportunities. So that's another relief. And we're done writing the dissertation to the travel consultant about all the complications involved in planning this trip. Hopefully we don't scare her off, because I really liked her plans.
Today I'm thankful for finishing our work quota, finally getting to try that new ice cream, having some time to relax and play video games, Cecille getting to do all the stuff she wants to do in Europe, and it being almost time to eat some chocolate.
busyness,
