Netflix knows...

Today has been a long day. We had a lot of things to work on. I mean, it's partly our own fault, because we could have done those two readthroughs over the weekend. But we did not know that this week's chapter of our Monday simulpub was going to be one of the few that took significantly more than an hour to translate.

And then we wanted to finish the first draft of this week's tankoubon...which of course is a series that is usually just over two hundred pages. So we worked some overtime today, but hopefully that means we won't have to work overtime for the rest of the week. We might even get to finish work a little early every day for the rest of the week...but maybe I shouldn't be counting chickens.

But anyway, Netflix taught us a lesson yesterday. We found out our favorite voice actor is in the French dub of a show called Action Pack...which has kind of a Paw Patrol vibe, but with superhero children. Anyway, obviously we sought it out, and we selected it, and Netflix was all, "Okay, season two, let's go." And we were like, "What? Netflix, no. You know we like to start from the beginning." And Netflix was all, "If you say so..."

So we watched it from the beginning. Three whole episodes. And we were like, "I don't think his character is going to show up. But something about the pattern of storytelling tells me maaaybe we should watch an episode of season two." We figured there wouldn't be too many spoilers, and even if there were, it probably wouldn't be that earth-shattering. So we watched the first episode of season two. And then we had to apologize to Netflix, because Netflix was right. His character was right there in the first episode! ...But even if we knew that, we still would have started from the beginning, because that's what we do.

...The question is, should we be alarmed that Netflix seems to know so clearly what we want to watch? Frankly, as long as they're helping me to find the things I want to watch, I don't see a problem with it. That may be short-sighted of me... Hmm... On the other hand, it could just be that sometimes they like to show seasons in backwards order, like with the Repair Shop and the Great British Baking Show.

Today I'm thankful for getting all of our work done, getting to hear our favorite voice actor as a villain in Action Pack, getting to try some Hostess Kazbars (I liked them better than I expected (why do we try things when we don't expect to like them that much? I don't know)), finding out that the world famous tea cakes are still around, and getting a surprise two more episodes of the other show we're watching (because for some reason we thought it was eight episodes instead of ten).
