The important news for today is that we got to the first episode of Edens Zero that mentions the Oracion Seis Galactica (on Netflix), so we checked the English dub and subtitles, and both of them had it as Oracion Seis Galactica, which means only Crunchyroll decided to snub our efforts to maintain a terms list. But frankly, we can't really blame Crunchyroll translators for phoning it in, because from what we understand, the working conditions are not great.
But anyway, we took the day off today (mostly; there was still a quick simulpub chapter to translate), because we needed to help a little girl with her school project and take Flat Luna to Disneyland. I'm really not sure if we did a great job with it. Like, when we go to Disneyland with people, we can help them do anything they want to do (within reason; it's not like they'll let us cut the lines or anything). But when the person we're going to Disneyland with is a piece of paper...well, then it's up to us to decide what to do, and we're old and tired. (And then we make it worse by going on Web Slingers. We really don't know how to take care of ourselves. (Athena: Web Slingers is important. For our...morale or...something...)) So when we go to Disneyland, it's like, "Oh, wow, that's a really interesting flower!" and "There's too many people here. I hate entropy."
So we took Flat Luna to California Adventure (because that's where we got the reservation for, and it's where Web Slingers is), and instead of taking her to, like, Cars Land and to meet the Avengers, I'm all, "We should totally take her to the little grape field outside the Trattoria so we can talk about California's rich agriculture!" ...So yeah. I don't know.
But! we did go on Web Slingers, and we took our new Web Tech! We only had the energy to go once, and since we did the single rider thing, we didn't get to ride together, which means we have to trust each other to be telling the truth about the special effects added to the webs (we're going to trade next time). The Spider-Man Web Tech add-on makes your webs all electrical, so when Athena said the Iron Man one was really zappy, I was like, "Yeah, the Spider-Man one, too." But it's a different kind of zappy. The Iron Man one, according to Athena, turns your webs into lasers. As for whether or not they help you get a better score, well...Athena scored a little on the high side, and I scored definitely on the low side. I wouldn't blame Spider-Man for that, though. The rest of my team was really good, too...and they kept hitting the targets I was aiming for.
After taking a break in the Animation Building (of course we had to take Flat Luna to our favorite room in the whole world), we headed over to Disneyland. We didn't go on anything...oh wait, we went on the Jungle Cruise! The line was a shocking 15 minutes long, so we took advantage. But mostly, we just took Flat Luna around and took pictures in front of artificial mountains.
We went to the Red Rose Taverne for an early dinner, and after waiting in line for a little while, we noticed that nobody had any fries, only tater tots. We're not necessarily opposed to tater tots, but we were in pretty desperate need of fries, and I was tired, so actually pulled out the Disneyland app to make sure our next destination had potatoes prepared the right way. That's when I found out the most miraculous thing: they brought mozzarella sticks back to the Golden Horseshoe!
So off we went to get some mozzarella sticks. And we happened to get there just in time to see the show--another thing we didn't know had returned to the Golden Horseshoe. A guy came out and sang some songs and told corny jokes while playing the piano. It was a good concept, and the guy was a pretty good pianist. He liked to put his own twist on the music--nothing drastic, just a few embellishments here and there, a slightly different rhythm for a line or two. And I think it's good to be able to improvise like that...but I don't think our styles really mesh. Four out of fives stars.
Before we completely ran out of energy, we did make sure to take Flat Luna to meet Mirabel from Encanto. We had been to Disneyland with the creator of Flat Luna, and that little girl was pretty excited to meet Mirabel. Plus, if you're taking a little kid to Disneyland (even if they're a flat paper person), you gotta take them to meet at least one of the characters. So we talked to Mirabel, who was very jealous that we carry Flat Luna everywhere, especially when it comes to stairs. She will never forget having to climb all those stairs in that attempt to talk to Bruno.
Then we came home and collapsed in front of an episode of Blood of the Vine. And now here we are. We looked at our work schedule and realized that we did not realize before how scary it is. Please pray for us.
Today I'm thankful for today's weekly simulpub being very kind to us, getting to try out our new Web Tech, getting to see a show at the Golden Horseshoe, getting to eat mozzarella sticks again, and getting to have a pretty nice day with Flat Luna.
