Today we got a pretty big shock that also seems like we should have seen it coming from a thousand miles away. That's right: we got another simulpub chapter to translate. But both of our weeklies had already been accounted for, and we were so sure we had already done our monthlies as well! Turns out we were not entirely caught up on the one that we were catching up on for the last couple of weeks. Well, we...hope...we are well and truly caught up, and that we shouldn't have another chapter of that for a month.
...Not that we mind getting more of that series (it's great!), just that it really wreaks havoc with our schedule. We had been planning to get an entire rough draft of a tankoubon done today, and those, on average, take an entire workday. With a simulpub chapter thrown into the mix, we only get half a workday, which means we'd either need to work over time to finish the tankoubon first draft, or move it over to the next workday, which means putting off everything else down the line. It was looking pretty touchy there for a while.
Thankfully, the tankoubon we started today turned out to be extremely light on text, so we were able to finish most of it in a little over two hours. Now we just have to do the preview and some bonus material that is also extremely low on text. And then we can get right to the editing phase, which, if we're lucky, will also not take very long.
And so we had plenty of time to finally catch Iron Leaves. Those five-star Tera Raids are not easy...and I know there are six- and seven-star ones. (We haven't unlocked them yet. I know. I'm sorry.)
Today I'm thankful for finally being really(?) caught up on that simulpub, the rest of work going very quickly, finally catching an Iron Leaves, getting to talk to Mom on the phone, and getting to sleep in tomorrow.
