So, I think I kinda like Haven! It's very typical Syfy and sorta lame, but it's mildly entertaining, shippy and veeeeery pretty (locationwise, although Nathan isn't exactly fugly). The opening credits were nice too, and I'm such a sucker for good credits. Shame about Eric Balfour being in it, but atleast he stayed out of this episode. Seriously, unless they mean for him to be the show villain rather than the third wheel of a Nathan-Audrey love triangle; WORST CASTING EVER. Does ANYone find him at all appealing?
Eureka's mixing it up this season! I'd like it if it wasn't for A) Jo and Zane, B) Tess being doomed to disappear sooner or later to make room for the epically boring Jack/Allison romance and C) the very real risk it all ends with the entire season (or however long this will go on) being erased when they finally reset the timeline. I hope I'm wrong on the latter two... Best change: Andy being back. Always annoyed the hell out of me that they ditched him, he made a great robot detective sidekick!
Worst change: My inner Aspie (which is pretty much all of my insides really) is totally pissed they "cured" Kevin's autism. I'm trying to calm myself down with logic reasoning - we don't know exactly what causes autism so it may be possible that certain things could have prevented it while still letting him develop exactly the same in EVERY SINGLE OTHER WAY - but well, it's not going well. As you can probably tell.
If autism could be cured then Aspergers could be too, because they're both on the spectrum - now, I don't get offended a lot (hardly ever really), but THAT offends me. It's like someone saying they can cure you of your personality because everyone has to be exactly the same. It's very possible, even probable, that kids with autism are HAPPY in their own little worlds. Who's anyone to take that away from them just so their parents can have a "normal" child?
And this is Eureka - if they wanted to give Allison a good reality where she could communicate with her son then why not a technological solution? It's scifi, just fucking make something up! Autism-translator! Brain-implant that lets Allison see the world like her son does! A cure for parents having a need for normal kids!
... Yeah so, not being pissed = going really well I think! ;)
It's STILL a billion degrees here, depsite cloudiness. Feel like I'm gonna faint...
