Urrrk, I feel weeeeird today. And depressed, but mainly weird. I blame the weather, because the weather is always to blame for my discomfort. Also I have PMS, so that too. Also also, I'm still spending my evenings playing WoW alone, which is like the most depressing thing ever, amirite? Yeah I thought so too. Okay, that's enough complaining for today.
Meanwhile, I watched the final two episodes of Eureka tonight. And it was kinda ... anti-climactic? I was sort of expecting... IDEK what, but something. I mean, it was a fine ending, I just felt like I should have felt more, for a series finale. Mostly I was kinda bored, especially during the very final episode (the one before that was a little bit thrilling, I do love evil clones), but that may have been because my actual out-loud reaction to them shutting down Eureka was: "OMG FINALLY". But that probably would have been a pretty sad ending, and the way it worked out was good and makes sense (-ish) and they tied everything up pretty nicely and brought back a lot of oldies, so kudos for all of that. Still, I cannot understand how that place even stayed open for so long, scifi or not - that's just too unbelievable. Like, wormholes, bionic bodies, clones, smart dust, space ships - I'm all onboard for all of that, but the government spending a lot of money on something that puts the nation/world in jeopardy on a weekly basis? Mmmnope, not even if it's the US government. XD
All worth it for that last scene though, because a series finale that nods back to the pilot? MY VERY FAVORITE. Happy they brought Zoe back for that, even if she didn't do very much else - it just would have felt weird if she wasn't there, ditto Taggart, and yeah, that ending. <3 And everyone lived happily ever after, basically, and that's how shows should end, so really, I'm not complaining. No really, I know it sounds like I am, but I'm not. I just need to delete some episodes from my brain-computer, like all that business with Time Travel Cures Autism and the Jo/Jack stuff (may we never speak of it again) and seriously the whole time travel storyline and the killing Nathan Stark and mostly everything related to Allison because ugh. And then I'll be happy.
But yeah, goodbye Eureka. Much like the town you focused on you were a quirky weirdass little show that aimed for the stars and often failed miserably, but you did so with good intentions and Niall Matter's arms, so I will miss you. A bit.
Speaking of quirky shows: Bunheads. Anyone else get the feeling we're gonna get sick of the Gilmoresque back-and-forth pretty quickly? I mean, I love it and have missed it, but I also feel like they're pushing it a bit here, like trying to force it? Maybe just turn down the crazy dial to 11 from 13? Just a thought. Still adorbs though, Sutton Foster is my new favorite. Girl can snark like a champ! She's like Jaye-from-Wonderfalls' older sister! Oh maaaan, can we get Caroline Dhavernas to come on and play her little sister? That would be amazing. They even look kinda alike! Universe, make it happen! Even if it means said universe imploding from that much snarkyness in one place, because: STILL WORTH IT.
Falling Skies: IDK, every week there is minimal amounts of guerilla fighting in a post-apocalyptic setting I forget why I watch this show. I just don't care for the characters all that much, and they insist on reinforcing that by being booooring. With the except of Maggie, who is by far the single most interesting, badass and likable character on the show. Like, I don't even mind her hooking up with boring Hal, because she's so awesome she'll drag him UP and not vice versa. It's already sort of working, he's like 70% less annoying than he was last season! Although, then they're all "PARTNERS" and doing the Almost Kiss thing while hiding and pushing allll my shipper buttons and I'm still not all that into it, so I dunno, maybe he's incurably boring. :/
The alien revolution thing could be sort of interesting, I guess, although I have no idea how they're gonna sell 2M on it. Also, I can't believe they came across (the possibility of) skitters killing skitters and no one made a cynical "I guess they're not that different from us" remark. This show really is too freaking fluffy! I swear, if I go look on IMDB, I'm gonna find out their writing staff is all made up of old 7th Heaven writers, aren't I? Either that or they're on even higher dosages of Prozac than I am.
Oh yeah, PS: Speaking of bringing stuff from the pilot back; The Glades! I got so distracted by suspiciousness yesterday that I totally forgot to seal-clap excitedly about them bringing back the cop from the pilot and that insurance storyline! Well, the former of those anyway, I could probably have lived without revisiting the creepy insurance guy plot, but still: continuity, yay! Whosa good show then? *Feeds treats and pats*
