GHNYAH, I'M NEVER LEAVING HOME AGAIN. *Is hugging the desk* Today was the g-rents visit, and I was feeling a *little* better than yesterday but still not good enough that having to be polite/social/feign interest in things didn't feel like pushing a steamroller up a hill. And then getting run over by said steamroller. And then mom had her issues on the way home, which okay: expected, but she deals with them by cranking the AC up like it's July and well, it is not July. Been shivering all night, hot shower and warm food didn't help. So yeah, not leaving this apartment again for atleast a week now, nope.
I didn't have to feign interest over everything though, cause grandma busted out some old newspaper clippings which was actually really cool (I know, impressed by weird things!). I don't know if I've mentioned this before so sorry if I'm repeating myself, but my grandfather was basically Superman when he was 29 (=three years older than I am now): he was working in a building by the river, saw a kid drowning, ran out, jumped in and saved the kid. Very cool of him, and he got a goldwatch and a bunch of praise for it and to this day he never brings it up himself and he's very quiet and modest about it. Solid guy, my granddad. <3
Anyway, all this I knew, but what I didn't know is that the kid who nearly drowned actually pretty much DID drown - they did CPR on him for 30 minutes before reviving him! And I say "they", but according to those news paper clippings my grandfather, having just brought the kid up from out of the water, was the one who got to work on the CPR right away. So yeah, that's one lucky kid and my grandfather is basically awesome. \m/
Meanwhile, my biggest accomplishment in terms of life-saving is letting some kid nearly drown me by using me as a floatation device when I was like 5. Heroism runs in the family, clearly.
Also interesting: The adorable cat of their nextdoor-neighbor who has ended up in the hospital for a pretty long while. Poor kitty was starved for attention and totally snuggle-attacked me. Such a pretty cat too, black with white markings on his paws and white on the very tip of his tail like he'd dunked it in a bucket of paint.
Annnnyway, now that I've sufficiently bored you with details about my barely-existing real life, we can return to our regularly scheduled fangirling. Putting the finishing touches on that Sam-picspam right now, will post it before I go to bed. I may have gotten even more silly with it than I planned, I blame the fatigue from today on that. Ditto on this rambly post of boring.
