Blah, I think the regularly scheduled autumn-related depression is upon me for reals. I feel even more tired and listless than usual, don't really feel like doing anything. Except maybe watch TV. Started on an Angel rewatch this afternoon, the Fred-episodes, and reached s2 of FNL tonight. That one's going in the wrong direction though, liking the characters less and less. And seriously, Coach Taylor? Is an asshole. I don't know why he's so loved, he's a total jerk! Tami I get, she's awesome, but the Coach sucks. Maybe he gets infinitely better later on, IDK, he kinda has to.
Doctor's appointment tomorrow at the crack of dawn (10:15, two hours before I usually crawl out of bed), not looking forward to that one bit. He'll probably just nod vaguely and say I need to exercise, like I don't know that already, and when I say I'm tired as all freaking hell all the freaking time he'll nod some more and that'll be it. Best case scenario = he actually finds something wrong with me, preferably something curable and non-lethal.
Anyways, meme stolen from
mierke that I filled out this morning and forgot to post:
Pick your five favorite TV shows (in no particular order) and answer the following questions about them. Don't cheat!
(Current faves, not all-time faves)
1. Rookie Blue
2. The Glades
3. Community
4. Parks & Rec
5. Game of Thrones
1) Who is your favourite character in 2?
Jim, and not at all for superficial reasons... Okay, maybe a BIT for superficial reasons!
2) Who is your least favourite character in 1?
Depends on the episode, but Luke when he's not being pathetic and drunk, and Jo now that she's turned around and is suddenly a huge bitch instead of being cool like in the beginning. And, sorry to say, Dov sometimes, because OMG that guy can be annoying.
3) What’s your favourite episode of 4?
301! No, 307! No wait, 308! Actually no, it's 309! Or 310... Ah, no! I've got it! 313! It has to be 313, because there is no greater and more wonderful thing in this world than:
4) What is your favourite season of 5?
Aha, finally an easy question. I'm gonna go with ... season 1! Controversial, I know.
5) What’s your favourite ship in 3?
Jeff/Annie. Except for when it's Jeff/Britta, which isn't THAT often.
6) Who is your anti-ship in 2?
Jim/Sam and Callie/Ray, obviously. DIE FOR MY SHIP!
7) How long have you watched 1?
Not long at all, I marathoned it this summer sometime and then was HOOKED. By now I don't remember what like was like without Sam/Andy in it, and I don't want to remember either.
8) How did you become interested in 3?
The pilot looked interesting, I was just getting into The Soup at the time and Joel McHale with that. Still, I went into it skeptical as I almost always am, but the opening scene got me grinning right away and after that it was just straight up the love-scale. The Asperger jokes sealed the deal, and by the end of the episode I knew I had a new favorite show.
9) Who is your favorite character in 4?
Ron Swanson! And Leslie. And Ben. And Andy and April. And Tom. And ... I'll shut up now.
10) Which show do you prefer out of 1, 2, or 5?
Right now: 1, obviously, as you could probably guess from the amount of flaily Rookie Blue-posts of late. In the long-run we'll see, honestly I'm not sure any of those three shows have the potential to be one of my favorite shows ever (ie: on par with Veronica Mars, Farscape, Firefly, etc), but for now RB owns me.
11) Which show have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3?
3, because I've seen ALL the episodes of both shows (of course!) and Community has more episodes.
12) If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Heh, damn, why couldn't I have put Community here? I guess I'll go with April because I'm already the most like her in terms of personality, and I wouldn't mind looking like Aubrey Plaza.
13) How would you kill off your favourite character in 2?
I'd never kill Jim! I would, however, very much like to hurt him. Just so Callie can worry about him and be his nurse and other tropey romance stuff! But yeah, he's not allowed to actually die.
14) Give a random quote from 1.
Andy: "I don't like space, because space doesn't involve me DOING something. You know, it's kinda like time - time doesn't work for me either."
Sam: "Right, time and space: two things that don't work for you."
15) Would a 3/4 crossover work?
Absolutely! Not sure how it'd be arranged - maybe the Pawnee folks could be hired to create a park for Greendale, maybe the study group could do a field trip to Pawnee, IDK, but it would be awesome. I imagine Ron and Pierce would kinda hit it off. And Annie would totally want to be Leslie Knope, and April and Britta could hang out and complain about stuff, and OMG, Troy and Andy together would be like watching 2 puppies fight over who's cuter and more stupid! <3
16) Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.
Dov/Gail is a bit unlikely but has been hinted at so I guess it's not really THAT surprising... IDK, who cares, the answer to all questions regarding Rookie Blue should revolve around Sam/Andy. Ditto the actual questions.
17) Overall, which show has a better cast, 3 or 5?
3 by far, because while there are a lot of stellar dramatic actors in Game of Thrones, Community's actors do both drama and comedy extremely well. Also, I could imagine other people in the GoT-roles, but I cannot imagine a Community where Jeff Winger isn't played by Joel McHale and Troy isn't played by Don Glover, and so on.
18) Which has better theme music, 2 or 4?
Hmm, I really like the opening credits tune of The Glades this season, but I'm gonna go with P&R on account of 1) it was the very first thing I liked about the show and 2) it makes me jazzed to hear it.
