This weekend my mum was visiting, it snowed a lot, we brought Fluff to London for his radioactive iodine treatment, and it snowed a lot, went to see Jumper, and it snowed even more. . .
Sunday there was a lot of snow in my back yard, and Ollie enjoyed it a great deal. We played fetch with his squeaky ball, a frisbee, and a cotton rope I bought him when the frisbee disapeared over the fence....
I also read a lot this weekend. Didn't want to study with my mum there, so I read. And I read in the long car ride to and from London. Last week I started into my annual comfort reading, and now I'm getting into my favourite bits of the Little House on the Prairie books :) (these and the Anne of Green Gables books are my comfort reads - I read both sets almost every year... Morgan horses came up in class the other day, which made me think of Almanzo's horses, and then I wanted to read the Little House books again! The box set I have my dad gave me for Christmas almost 20 years ago now, so they have a delightful old book smell and look well read :) )
Brought the laptop to school today, because I was hugely behind in emails. So I haven't been paying attention very much today.. oops...
This morning was my last midterm exam EVER. EEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR. Pretty stoked about that. Can't celebrate tonight, though, because tomorrow morning bright and early I'm anesthetizing a dog for a spay surgery from which it will be recovering... our first REAL surgery!! We have a 10 month old German Shepherd, and she's crazy but very nice. So tonight I need to read up on my anesthesia stuff so I'm completely ready.. need to figure out how to premedicate her (we want some serious sedation so we can get a catheter in without too much hassle.. she was a pill and a half to get blood from this morning!), and think about analgesia (considering her surgeons will be unexperienced and probably handle the tissues a bit more than typical so she might have a bit more post-operative pain than your standard out-in-practice spay...)
Hopefully, though, data entry won't take too long tonight and I'll be home in time for some fetch with Ollie before I get down to work.
(Hoepfully, if they've left all the cases since Thursday for me to do they've at least opened the envelopes for me.... I took 2 days off because I was starting to get really annoyed with that job, which will probably make it extra annoying tonight...)
