A dream i had last night..........

My brother and I were working at the office. It was located in a shopping center next to a hair cutter. We had been partners. Not only in the office but partners when it came to doing illegal things for our own benefit. That day we had finished early at the office and took it as a perfect opportunity to do what we had planned not very long ago. We went into the haircutter. Once in there we walked into the waiting room. It was perfect. It was packed with people just as we had planned. We began to flatter some of the customers and then I went to the desk to ask for a business card. I pulled out my wallet and dropped a handful of quarters. Most of the people came to help me pick them up. Meanwhile, my brother, Josh, would reach into coat pockets and purses and help himself to car keys and any cash he grabbed. We had a nice selection of cars to take that day.
We finished picking up the coins and we walked out thanking them. I told the hairdresser I would come back when it wasn’t so full. Josh had been pressing unlock keys to find where the cars were located. As we began to make our way to the parking lot, we heard a familiar voice. We stopped and turned around to see our boss, Rose, coming to tell us something. Apparently she wanted to go out to lunch with us to discuss some upcoming projects. My brother, obnoxiously, continued to press unlock buttons as we walked. Rose didn’t seem to notice what he was up to. She continued to talk to me. I knew what my brother was up to. I didn’t want to get into the car we steal with our boss. Once the owner left the haircutters, he would know the car was stolen. We were being timed. When the owner calls the cops, she would know that my brother and I drove her around in a car fitting the exact description of the one missing. We would be caught. “Oh, I have to go to the bathroom.” I said in an attempt to change our plans. We still hadn’t found the car and this was my chance to change everything or at least delay it. We would then be able to talk her into lunch maybe at a restaurant in the shopping center. My brother pressed the button one last time before responding. The car next to us opened. It was a brand new 2004 Toyota 4Runner. My brother saw the opportunity of driving such a nice car and told Rose- “Hop in!”
He opened the back door for her. “Are you nuts?” I confronted him after he closed her door and began walking to the driver’s side. “Hey your willing to pass up this beauty for a little delay?” It was a delay- a delay that could cost us a lot. It was too late now so I just went along with it and got into the passenger side. I knew we were going to have to bring her back after we ate. But by then the cops could be investigating. We drove with Rose telling us about new deals and upcoming projects. She seemed to do most of the talking. Despite my comments, I hadn’t the slightest clue what she was talking about. I was too busy worrying about bringing her back too late. Every minute seemed to last an hour. This was the precious time we had to get away, not to be driving the boss around. After a long conversation and a trip to a fast-food restaurant, we drove her back. She didn’t seem to want to go back yet but she agreed anyway. We took her back to the same parking lot where we stole the car.
Impatiently, I told Josh to stop before the parking lot and let her out there. She heard me and refused. “I’m an old woman, I cannot be walking so far.” We were going to have to drive her up to the office, which was next to the haircutter. We would risk getting caught if the car owner already called the cops. We slowly turned the corner. No cops were there. The owner must still be inside. We parked and let Rose out. We were lucky this time.
Finally we would be able to leave. No more interruptions. Josh pulled out and someone drove behind our car and hit us. “Oh my god… what are we going to do?!” A cop arrived. “I was across the street. I saw the whole thing. Step out of the car sir.” The cop explained to Josh how it was his fault and that he is going to get a ticket. My brother knew how to act. He was always good at flattering people and getting what he wanted. This time, he tried to talk himself out of a ticket. This seemed to be a challenge because the cop looked as if he wasn’t going to buy it.
I didn’t know what to do. I hadn’t been seen yet and I could get out and go by quietly unnoticed. Or I can stay in the car and get busted along with Josh. Anyway it turned out we were going to get caught now. The man would walk out to see us in the car. The cop would then realize we were making a pathetic attempt at taking a car and would arrest us. If I took off, only my brother would get arrested. I decided I would be loyal and stay in the car. A million thoughts ran through my head. Meanwhile, my brother started crying. He was making up a story about him hurrying to the hospital to see a family member. The cop seemed to buy the whole thing. The lady who we hit came out of her car and said to forget it. She had things to do, and it was only a small scratch. I looked through the rear view mirror to watch the cop pat him on the shoulder. “Look I’ll give you a break but don’t think you're so lucky. If I catch you doing anything I will personally make sure you get a ticket next time.” Josh thanked him and came into the car. We snickered, as we both knew we had pulled it off again.
