Supernatural drabble: The Height of a Man [Gen, G]

My story for the spn_flashback ficathon is done and will be posted on time. Just have to polish a few things. It turned out looooong. 7,500 words of Sam and Dean in middle school. It really took me by surprise, and my gratitude goes to whoever came up with the prompt I chose.

Oh, I love your thoughtful drabbles! Such an ordinary but important thing. And I can imagine how it must have felt - I almost know, seeing as all my younger cousins are taller than I.

Heh. Dean (and JA) isn't short. He just seems short compared to Sam (and JP).

I know. JP is FREAKISHLY tall.

*sniffles* I was looking at caps from the 3rd and 4th seasons and got all mawkish last night. Poor, poor thing. Also, Gillian is amazingly beautiful.

Nice. :) I bet the moment Sam matched Dean's height was just like that, too: Dean not happy and Sam ecstatic. And before they knew it, Dean was the "short guy" in that relationship. :)

Thanks :) Yes, I'm sure Dean saw that moment coming and headed it off by refusing to let Pastor Jim mark their heights on the door.

He saw the writing on the...er...door, so to speak *g*

This is just a perfect little drabble - the kind of detail you can get into and out of in one hundred words. Nicely done!

Awww, poor little Dean. At first Sam outgrows him vertically, than figuratively. *sniff*

And I so love PJ. Hopefully he`ll make another appearance in flashbacks.

But really despite the fact that Jensen would probably tower over me (have only a basic idea how these foot/inch-thing works so I guess I`m maybe 5.4?) but on the show he looks so small and vulnerable when he is with his family.

Oh, Dean knows. The height thing is just the beginning: Sam's going to grow up and leave the nest. Glad you liked the drabble! :)

I remember reading somewhere JA is about 6 feet, or 6'1". He's not SHORT. He just looks that way next to JP and JDM. I think it works out nicely for the characters. Dean's a superb hunter and physically strong, yet at moments he looks more vulnerable when he's with his brother and father. Even though Dean's always done the protecting with regard to Sam.
