as someone who uses a Mac almost everyday, I have to say that I prefer the PC. I just don't think there's anything about Macs that make them worth the cost.

They are expensive, and if you aren't seeing a large difference overall, then it's not worth it.

I haven't heard anything good about windows Vista, though. A new pc would be less expensive but...Vista...I dunno...

PC's are much less expensive, definitely.

My husband also has yet to hear anything good about Windows Vista. He has a friend who's a computer guru -- guru as in he's built his own operating system from scratch -- who says that it's like Microsoft changed things just to change things, and Vista uses a ton of memory.

I actually am a weirdo who quite likes Vista! Now I am used to where everything is it's cool. The most annoying thing is that the standby button looks like shut down so I keep just putting my computer so sleep ;) I wasn't aware that it might be using up lots of memory though - boo to that! :)

I'm glad Vista is working well for you. Getting stressed out over computer operations is no fun.

*covers your poor PC's "ears"* The vast majority of Mac users I've talked to prefer them to PCs. I wonder if part of it is you just prefer what you're used to.

Today I found a rumor online that Microsoft is thinking of ditching Windows completely (this was on a technology blog somewhere). Building a totally new OS from the ground up.

Oh wait, that's what they said LAST time...

You are allowed to like Vista, hon. *G* (I'm in the mac store playing with the macbooks now...)

ooh, yes. Vista. That is actually something I am NOT happy about. I know a couple of people who like it, but the majority don't. Whenever I get a new computer, I'll probably just end up installing XP on it because I don't want to deal with all the hinkiness of Vista.
