I wish I could get down to 165 lbs. . . Granted, that was my weight in 8th grade and I wasn't "fat," so I don't think I have the bone structure for it. . . Other than that, I don't know how I am an 84% friend match with that dude. . . lol

And, if you're going to stress that you're an English teacher in a snark, it might be a nice touch to actually capitalize the first word in a sentence and avoid snarks to your snark, like this one. . . ;-)

there's a difference between the relaxation of formal rules for an informal medium and raping the language.

Perhaps so but as is the case in grammar_whores, if you point the finger, be prepared to have it pointed back at you.

I am. and I really don't think not capitalizing the first word of my sentences is anything approaching the level of stupidity shown by this person.

and the point still stands-certain rules get relaxed in certain environments. the grammar standards of formal writing are not generally followed in casual internet posting. for example, sentence fragments are all over the place.

terrible spelling is still terrible spelling.

I believe the difference would be: When you do it, it's relaxing the rules; when someone else does it, it's raping the language.

(Your quotation starts with a double mark and ends with a single mark, since we're picking on you. :D)
