I just got HBB-baited on okcupid, with a message consisitng only of a cut and paste of the first paragraph on their profile no less, by a yicky couple, who state in their profile that "Rude people PISS me off, we read the first paragraph in profile and E-mail, We have had a few people that are total ass holes bitch us out because we didn't read

I wish I could get down to 165 lbs. . . Granted, that was my weight in 8th grade and I wasn't "fat," so I don't think I have the bone structure for it. . . Other than that, I don't know how I am an 84% friend match with that dude. . . lol

And, if you're going to stress that you're an English teacher in a snark, it might be a nice touch to actually capitalize the first word in a sentence and avoid snarks to your snark, like this one. . . ;-)

I am. and I really don't think not capitalizing the first word of my sentences is anything approaching the level of stupidity shown by this person.

and the point still stands-certain rules get relaxed in certain environments. the grammar standards of formal writing are not generally followed in casual internet posting. for example, sentence fragments are all over the place.
