So, I've had this puppy for two days now, and she totally doesn't listen to me.  She craps everywhere and makes a lot of noise and doesn't listen and is, generally, a puppy.  I have tried The Great and Glorious Generic Term of Training on her just like with my other dog who is PERFECT and, though rescued, guaranteed not to have heard a word of ( Read more... )

I want so badly to tell her how many of those mixed-breed wolf hybrid "breeders" are completely full of shit and love scamming idiots like her. Up here, wolves are far more likely to kill a female in heat than mate with it because they're considered competitors for food. Most of the "wolf mixes" up here are just high-strung working line husky mixes, sometimes with a little GSD thrown in for a little extra wolf look.

I can't help but hope the pup is not a wolf hybrid. Based on her writings, I would have to say she's not quite ready for such a challenge. I'm afraid this situation may be a disaster waiting to happen.

I sincerely hope so, although working-line huskies are generally flung back at the shelter, too. Depending on where she bought this thing from... :-/ I do sincerely hope it's just a mix. I daresay it does look quite a bit like something you'd find up here, but the coat length is a bit iffy to me for husky x gsd. Then again, wolves would have a longer coat, too. I wonder what else is thrown in there? It almost looks like shepherd x husky x shiba.

She's one of these idiots that just go "WOLVES ARE PRETTY AND IF I WORSHIP THEM ENOUGH THEN THEY WILL LOVE ME AND IT'LL BE JUST LIKE A DISNEY MOVIE." We get a lot of them up here, unfortunately, who come here to fulfill their completely unrealistic dreams. It's sad, really.

She got taken, hook, line and sinker. The result is, apparently, a sick wolfdog mix that's now going to start piling up the vet bills. Great research!

that person is a fucking idiot. that is really all i have to say about that, i am too enraged at the fact that she's keeping her pups crated together.

MY ICON HAS NEVER BEEN MORE APPROPRIATE.

Puppy is cute but I'm really doubting the wolf content. Even the low content. And "high content = expensive!" like $600? What'd she pay for her low content? I don't know, I mean I know it is a mix but it's not labeled as a mix, really, it's a ~*~wolf hybrid~*~ and that just sounds cheap. Am I insane?

It's common for people to mix GSDs and huskies/sled mixes and pass them off as "wolf hybrids," and since they're extremely common dogs in some areas (like up here) they're extremely inexpensive to acquire and [irresponsibly] breed. Then they sell off the muttly puppies as ~*~wolf hybrids~*~ to suckers like her.

Yes, a HIGH CONTENT Arctic Wolf hybrid would not sell for $600. Actual Arctic Wolves have a very limited range and it's extremely unlikely that any wolf hybrid mix has that particular wolf subspecies in it.

There are just so many red flags with her story that it's not even funny.

Yeah, I'm getting the same vibe. And "Arctic timberwolf" just makes me laugh. It's like saying my cat is part "Siberian Bengal tiger"; somehow it just undermines credibility. :D

She was let loose to run on the farm a bit? A hybrid mix?

Sounds like a real winner of a breeder, right there.

Oh my god I just read the rest of the post and I can't stop twitching. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS GIRL.

Now with extra wankery, OMGMEEN, you weren't helpful, and as an added bonus, "You're all breedists but blocky dogs should die out!"
