.... What. It's the NATURE of the business to let animals die unnecessarily?

otThe heartlessness of pet stores never cease to amaze me.

laurasubby posts in hamsters (now deleted, but she posted again):

"I'm finally working at a pet store!

Except ... one of the hamsterbaby's teefs are overgrown. Everyone told me not to get attached because that's the NATURE OF THE BUSINESS. Please tell me what to do, but if it involves me doing something that actually matters, such as ROCKING THE BOAT, don't bother. I don't want to. In the meantime, I'll tell you all about this aquarium that I work at, who also neglects their animals. Did I mention I want to be a zookeeper? That's right! I'm the sort of person who will sit and ignore the animals needs. 8D"

My response:

"... It's illegal to deny an animal of medical attention. Please bring this up to your superiors and get in contact with your local animal authorities.

Having an animal die of a very preventable condition (tooth malocclusions are very common in rodents who aren't given enough to chew and grind their teeth down), and essentially have the animal STARVE to death because he can't eat is despicable and definitely not ethical for a pet store to practice. Please try and figure out a way to get this baby to a vet asap."

Loathsome, despicable, abhorrent, atrocious... I can find many, MANY more synonyms to express my utter disgust with this right now.
