Have others validate your utterly flawed assumptions!

Distraught poster: My trainer told me to teach a recall by popping my dog's prong collar every time I ask her to "come" (but somehow this is referred to as a "positive" method beause after all the leash-popping a treat is delivered?)! But it's not working, so everyone please just validate me and tell me that I'm doing everything right and that my dog is defective and stupid and insubordinate!

Almost everyone: Aw, it's okay, you are doing everything right, my dog has crappy recall too lolz aren't they little stinkers lol? Because it's totally hilarious and okay when our dogs never learn the only command that could literally save their lives! LOL!!!eleventy!! Oh, and she's totally dominant, show her who's boss! I did that with my dog and he has a crappy recall. Forget I said that, though, and follow my advice anyway.

Voices crying in the wilderness: It's NOT OKAY, that's a weird way of training recall, it clearly isn't working regardless, get a new trainer and try something else, and here's even some concrete suggestions.

Original poster: Thanks guys, my dog doesn't listen to me for some unknown reason that can not be identified by modern science and is therefor a total mystery and not at all my fault, and it has nothing to do with how I pinch the skin around her neck every time I engage with her! I knew you'd all understand! I guess my dog just sucks and there's nothing that can be done about it. Thanks internet!
