This is an ACTUAL conversation I had with a woman who stopped by with my father-in-law when they came to pick up his truck.
Her: Gosh, this dog is so friendly! What did you say he was again?
Me: Dogo Argentino.
Her: He's got a head like a Bull Mastiff and a body like a Greyhound.
Me: Well, they actually are a sort of mastiff.
Her: Really? Oh! I had friends with Bull Mastiffs and those dogs scared me worse than Rottweilers or those dogs that eat children.
Me: I'm afraid I don't know of any breeds predisposed to eating children...
Her: What were they called? Oh darn. OH! Those PIT BULLS.
Me: *sigh*
Her: Yeah, they eat children in the Southwestern deserts, you know. Gets so hot their brains fry.
Me: *blank stare*
Yep, those of you with pibbles in the Southwest -- BEWARE. Their brains will fry and they shall hunt CHILDREN in the barren, sandy wastelands. *nodnod*
